I thought I would start this up again.
I’m going to make a wheel of fortune to post the palaces on and spin it to determine the TWT local.

Post up… Where are some good places?

Personal favorites modified:

BJ’s
Hot Rod Grill
Jo’s garage
PT’s

Speed channel

Hot Rod Grill
BW3's
The Lodge
BJ Brew House

Those are the ones off the top of my head. If you call them, they are usually more then willing to work with you. I was saving about 15-20 seats.

Although I haven't been there, Kerry's Sports Pub sounds like a good spot. Supposedly they have Speed, but I could call and verify that if anybody is interested in trying it.
Santa Fe mining company was yummy too....

The reality police are coming for you, Ross. There is no good food here, and nobody has speed, unless we're talking Greggy's parents.* (PS They've got a great place, tons of room, nice pool, a really big TV, and they know the number for the pizza delivery place)

Actually, Tony's Pizza just did a nice expansion... their potato wedges are da bomb... but they're not open for me to call about Speed at the moment.* I'm kinda thinking no.

I think she just wanted to seperate you and the rest of BC because your speed and kick ass food is on a whole different level.

I suppose there is nowhere in this valley that'll be good for everyone. While some places are great.....they're just too far away for some on a Tues nite. Or they don't have Speed. Or the food sucks. Or the service sucks. Or you can't see the bikes. Or....

I dunno what the answer is, or if there even IS a real answer here.

I like makin' TWT myself. Even like bringin' the wife. However, on a werk nite for us both, it's tough to make it to Ann Rd and the 95 (for example), have dinner and kick it a while, and still make it back in time for bed and an early rise. Ann Rd and 95 is about 100 miles round trip for us.

I quoted Gleno because I think everyone who does TWT feels this way.

I know we will not be able to please everyone with every TWT. But let’s try to work on a happy median.
Post up if you think we should hold TWT closer to the center of town or alternate between each side of town. IE: North, South, East, and West. In addition we can also alternate between places that have Speed Channel and the ones that don’t.
Everyone post up on how you feel about this.

My $0.02 is that “I don’t care where or if they have Speed Channel. I go for the friends and convo.” And yes it’s harder for me to make a trip to the North side. But I will go as much as I can. My thinking is that we alternate between the four corners and try to find a place in the middle for a once a month TWT. Some place that the majority of us don’t mind meeting at.

I was thinking about Moose's Beach House for a central Local. It's just south of UNLV.
Here is a write up on it.
"If it weren't for Moose's Beach House, many a college student would be hard-pressed to survive. There's no place else within the college district on Maryland Parkway that you can stumble into in the afternoon, plunk down your last dollars on quality grub and suds and listen to live bands all night long. There's also no place else in the college district with Moose's charms; it seems like every hour is happy hour at the venerable haunt, with specialty cocktails just $2-$2.50. At that rate, you can try them all using less money than you'd blow in one joint on the Strip. Be prepared: Moose's doesn't water down its drinks. Try the Pelican Punch, equal parts Barcardi Rum, Southern Comfort, Sloe gin and pineapple juice, or the Purple Haze (a couple of these put you exactly in that) with vodka, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao, sweet 'n' sour, cranberry juice and Sprite. Moose's full menu is just as exhaustive (and wallet friendly), with above-average American selections of burgers, sandwiches, salads and pizza. A Mexican menu offers tacos, burritos and nachos big enough to share. Moose's location behind the Thomas & Mack Center makes it a popular stop for concertgoers, but there's always a crowd in the evenings." It also has two pool tables and Speed channel. The front porch to the place over looks the parking lot. I do believe this is dead center of town for everyone.

Moose's Beach House
4770 S. Maryland Parkway
Las Vegas, NV 89119

I would recommend rotating the TWT around the Vegas Valley. (including BC) If people feel it's too far away on a given week, they don't have to attend. I understand that we are attempting to accomodate everyone, but as we found out a while back, making everyone happy is impossible.

I've never been to Moose's Beach House, but as long as they have room for us it sounds like a decent spot. Is this the old Moose McGillicuddys? That was always a popular drinking hangout on campus.

Whoa Paige, hold it right there. Les is talkin some sweet girl-on-girl-on-girl-on...action.

And you gotta go and mess it up with "male nudies" talk. Way to ruin a perfectly good chubbie.

Les, please continue. :-)
