| SCS April 09 Meeting Minutes I. Welcome Attendees Officers Present Arson Eric PK Matt Members Present Big pat Pat Leslie Susan Stacy Marcus Mark Jeremy Jason Prospects Andrea Ryan Warren Freddie Guests Ken Corbin introduced himself to SCS. He rides an FZ6 and is Moonlighter on the SCS board. II. Prospect Reports - Freddie – Rides pretty much every day. Participates in nightly events as well. - Ryan – Riding a lot and also went to Bullhead. He gave an extra pair of spare pants to a fellow rider while spreading the work to them the need for gear. Participated in Adopt-a-Highway. - Andrea – Also helped with giving an extra pair of spare pants to a fellow rider while spreading the work to them the need for gear. Participated in Adopt-a-Highway. - Warren – Continues to take long rides and supports in events as well. Also participated in Adopt-a-Highway. III. Officer Vote into SCS - VP position was voted on last month but the ballots were not available. Ballots were passed out at this meeting and Arson was voted in as VP by the members. - Secretary was also voted on this month by ballot and Leslie was voted in by the members. IV. Prospect Vote into SCS - Freddie was voted in unanimously by all members. Will get with the treasurer to pay dues and the secretary will give patch. V. New Prospects - None VI. Adopt-a-Highway - Thanks to Everyone Who Participated - Eric gave thanks to everyone especially Ryan and Andrea who drove all the way out to participate. VII. SCS Annual BBQ - Will be held again at Mt Charleston and the Foxtail picnic area - Poll is located on the website with 3 dates to choose from. Please get on there and vote. - After the date is picked we will start the planning. We need everyone to help participate in the planning. VIII. Dues - All dues are due by the March 2009 meeting. There will now be a $10 late fee in affect. Matt will accept dues through his PayPal account for convenience. IX. Officer's Reports - Pres – Looking at an event at MotoCafe similar to Gleno’s ride. They subsidized the food for us. We only pd for what we used. This will be an SCS member event. - VP – Is looking forward to his position and getting SCS year started. Has been at bike events every night. He feels that SCS needs to be seen at events. - Treasurer – The account has $1200 and some change. Great amount to have a successful BBQ. - Secretary – Is glad that since she can't ride any longer, that she is able to contribute to SCS and stay an active member any way she can. - Sgt-at-Arms – SCS needs to do a lot more rides. Attended M3 with 3 SCS members and 3 VK members. They rolled in together which is how the camaraderie should be. Also attended the M3 after party. We are going to go in reverse order and get the free ice cream then head to Al’s Garage for a big burger and fries for really cheap. Attended the Aggressive Riders BBQ and stated that is was one of the best he has been too. Great ribs and prizes. JDub won a cage for his bike. X. Open Discussion - Eric - 26 Apr -- Ducati Demo Day and LVMS. Some people are having a problem making their reservation so Eric stated when you call the place to talk to Eric who works there and he can help. It will be a lead and follow format. Posted on our site. - Every Thursday is Red Rock ride. After the ride, they head to Starbucks. Posted on our site under Rides forum. - Pat - Double D ride -- Mars will be there 9 May @ 0900. It will only be a few hours in the morning. It is posted on our website. Discussed after ride to have a practice session in a controlled environment. - PK -- Valley of fire this weekend. Is not posted as of yet, but PK will post all the specifics in the ride forum. - Warren -- Some instructors are trying to get a school together since the Freddie Spencer School is gone. - Jimmy -- Blackjack Charity Ride - Sunday April 19th - $10 Registration at Nellis AFB at 0900 (Visitor Center Parking Lot) receive first playing card Depart: 1000, Ride through The Valley Of Fire State Park. End: Mountainside Restaurant & Tavern where everyone grab lunch and receive last card, winner gets 21% of the proceeds, the remainder would go to the Street Teens organization. Meeting adjourned around 8:04pm Next meeting is May 11th
