As these are the last minutes I will be writing, I just wanted to thank everyone for never being critical about my writing skills. I know Nicci will do an outstanding job so you are all in great hands! Thanks for everything everyone. With no further a do, here are my last minutes.... SCS January 2010 Meeting Minutes I. Welcome Attendees Officers Present Eric Arson Leslie Members Present Pat Nicci Pat Jeremie Freddy Kevin Mark Stacy Jason Corbin Prospects None at this time Guests Jody Buck Raelyn Kevin – Rides a Buell and is just a 4 banger on the SCS site Grace II. Prospect Reports No prospects at this time III. Prospect Vote into SCS - No prospect vote in this month IV. New Prospects - No new prospects to vote in this month V. President Comments - Eric wanted to thank everyone this year for their support. Also thanked the officers. We had some hard times, but worked through them. VI. New Officer Voting - Sgt-at-Arms – Jeremie – Stated he will do the best job that he can and will make sure he will be there - Treasurer – Freddy – Will make sure the funds are always accounted for - Secretary – Nicci – Thanked everyone for voting for her and she wants to make sure everything is pre-planned - Vice President – Arson – Thanked everyone for their vote. Hopes that SCS will have a great year - President – Stacy – Thank everyone for the vote. Stated that he wants to make sure we do more riding. Believes that the new officers are a good group. VII. Open Discussion/Club Direction - Eric - - In the past there has been sporadic participation. Wants the members to discuss where they want the club to go. - People are too shy to plan rides. If you’re not sure about how to plan a ride, there are a couple things to help you. One is too look at our site as Eric has posted up how to plan rides. Two, ask the people who have done rides before for their help. Just because you plan the ride, doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. Also, don’t get upset if your ride that you planned doesn’t go well. It happens but that doesn’t mean your next one won’t be great! - You need to make excuses to ride, not make excuses not to do it. - We all need to have better communication. - Eric will remain the admin person on the site. - Stacy - – Wants to do a lot more riding. Wants regular rides and will start to tell people to plan the rides. This way it spreads the love and everyone gets involved in the planning. Do more poker runs. - Have contact list of members and gets messages out to them via text, e-mail, something to tell people about rides, events etc. - Talked already to some former riders of SCS, Roger and Gary to come out to some of rides with us. - Will post a lot more ideas for the club on the site. - Wrote legislative about lane splitting but has not gotten a response back yet. An idea was brought up about bringing lobbyist into the idea. - Jeremie – - Wants more mandatory participation for members. Doesn’t believe that members should feel it’s mandatory as they should want to come out and participate. - Pat – - Wants more help with MARS. Needs other people to come up with ideas. When you help with MARS, you get a sense of accomplishment. - Nicci – -We need to pre-plan rides, events etc. Start texting or e-mailing ahead of time about what the event is. Don’t only post it on the board. VIII. Officer’s Reports - Pres – Looks forward to the new year - VP – Need to start working on the Gleno memorial ride. Also is looking forward to the new year - Secretary – Stated that we have a great group of new officer’s so we should have a great 2010. Also, believes that Nicci is the perfect person to step into this position. IX. MARS (Pat Harris) - For those that do not know, MARS stands for Motorcycle Awareness and Rider Safety. It is still dangerous to ride but with education, that percentage can go down. - Wants once-a-month training exercises. He will see if we can charge for it and maybe raise some funds for SCS. This will not only SCS, but open to everyone. Takes a lot of people to do it who has experience in different exercises. You can always improve your skills. - Would like to have a lot of us out there for a track day. Great to do it in a group to be able to help each other. - Track days – Taking a track day is a lot safer than being on the street. Having to wear the right gear. You will learn more on a track day than you would on the streets, just riding. - Pat met with Track Tactics about buying bulk slots. Track Tactics will do their own track days for $45 if you go to their site. The training is free. Go to their site and take a look. Buck took their school and had one on one training. The track day showed him where he should be when he is riding. - Please get more involved with MARS because Pat shouldn’t have to do it alone. We should all be involved as it can save lives, which is the most important. Meeting adjourned around 8:35pm Next meeting is February 9th, 2010

I was a writing fool last night. I like it when everyone has something to say. That always makes for a great meeting. Definitely congrats to the new officers!!! I know you guys are gonna ROCK with keeping our club in the right direction!!! Although I'm not an officer this year, I will still help any way I can. And Nicci, if at any time you have a question, never hesitate to give me a call.

You might regret telling me you'll help. I might annoy you, jk. Those are some pretty tough foot steps to follow, but I'm so excited.
