I'm not sure on the details, but the text messages are flying and I've had 3 reports that George from racers edge (he rides and races his R1) was in a tragic accident and is hospitalized, i have some reports that he might not make it, but no confirmations yet. I am not present at the hospital. He is at UMC.

I heard he was run over by a semi. Hearts out to his family! You hear about this stuff at least once a month, but when it finally happens to somebody you know, it really hits close to home. What's even scarier is around this same time a year ago (maybe even same day as George) a friend of mine was riding through Lake Mead and went off a ravine and was killed. Becareful out there!

For anyone interested,The Clark County coroner's office identified the victim as 33-year-old George Contreras of Las Vegas.

aw man.. a uhaul truck

not only does the family have to deal with thier tragic loss of a loved one... but Uhaul will drag it out as long as they can before paying a single dime in compensation.. costing the family money and more grief. I know this from personal experience. This is a very unfortunate accident in more ways than one.

Is anyone setting up a paypal account or whatever so that everyone who wanted to help, could send something?

My wife recieved this email at her work on wed., just thought I'd pass it on.

Subject: BE CAREFUL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

To all my friends just a little note - please do not respond to this memo...

I've just been informed a VERY CLOSE friend of mine & my family (just like an adopted uncle - you know... one of those kinds of friends...) had just died last night in the ER.

He was hit by a U-Haul truck running a red light. He was on his motorcycle & was hit hard enough to knock out the engine. I'm not looking for any kind of sympathy but want you all to be aware of the idiots on our streets. He wasn't in the wrong, he HAD a green light but the U-Haul driver thought he could run thru...

Please, my friends, take the time to say goodbye to your friends or say hello when you pass because it may just be the last. I'm asking you do not respond to this email because it's hard enough with all that WE have to do with work & with our own lives, but just wanted to remind you to take time at those stop signs & traffic lights. You may feel rushed but i ask you to stop & think if rushing to get to your destination is really worth taking a life or even the possibility of losing one.

Thanks for taking the time to read & note my little note.

Thank You.

Ok here is what I have so far.

Location: Inkville on 1926 Western Ave I believe. You will see all the bikes and trucks
Time: 11:00am
Reason: Meet there take a memorial ride

We will be having a raffle for some stuff, for $20 you will be entered in the raffle and get lunch at the final destination.
All money collected will be given to the family to have him sent back home.

Please bring as many people to this as possible.

Thank you,
Stephen
