so right now I'm on a 55 boat called the sundancer posting from my bunk on my iPhone. Just heading out from longbeach going to Santa barbara island to go diving. This is so fucking cool. We should be there sometime early in the morning with breakfast waiting on us when we wake up. Me and Michelle have a double bunk and the boat is rocking and the engines are kinda loud and um hehe I gotta go ;)

11:40pm, just got home. Fuck I'm tired. Was a little dissapointed when I walked out on the deck of the boat and noticed I was at Catalina Island. Apparently the swells were too large at Santa Barbara Island when we got there, so the captain made a judgment/safety call and went to Catalina. Diving at Catalina is better than not diving at all. Got three dives in this trip, and learned quite a bit. 1. Taking pictures underwater is 1000% harder than taking pictures on land. First, get close. Then get closer. Then get even closer. I need to practice alot more. 2. If you drink a coke right before you dive, when you come back on the boat you can unleash a thundering, earth-shaking belch. The kind that stops all conversation in a room and people stare at you with fear and respect. After a brief moment of complete silence, conversation then resumes with remarks like "oh my god", "impressive", "fuckin disgusting" and "holy shit" 3. Spending a night on a large dive boat with 24 other people is a blast. I met some pretty cool people and had a lot of fun. Kinda reminds me of riding motorcycles when there is no drama involved. 4. When you are diving and are wondering, where the fuck are all the fish? Just turn around, they are following you. Then be real still and they will swarm all around, checking you out. 5. Getting tangled in kelp sucks. Stay calm, try not to panic. 6. Diving and riding in a boat all day really tires you out. I'm exhausted and still have to rinse out all my gear, then get a shower. I'll post pics tomorrow.

ok here are some pics... this is the boat, 55' with 2 bathrooms, a shower, galley, sleeping downstairs for like 20 people. Seemed much bigger in real life than in the pics. ![]() This is my buddy/scuba instructor, Bill from Scuba Views at Rancho & Cheyanne. The pic is pink because I had the camera set for underwater mode and it was trying to enhance the colors. ![]() A few pics underwater, these are from around 90 - 100 feet below the surface. Not much light down there, and all the pics I took of the bottom turned out like crap and werent worth posting. I have alot to learn about taking pics underwater, shit aint easy. ![]() ![]() Hey look its me... ![]() For the rest of the dives I said fuck the camera and left it on the boat. The third dive was amazing, thats when I saw the all the fish, swam thru the kelp forests, saw a bunch of starfish, sea urchins, a cool purple & orange thingy called a nudibranch, some sea fans, etc etc.. Was only in 30' of water that time, but had no camera. Oh well. Here is me after the 1st dive ![]() If yo've never been to Catalina Island, you should check it out... its beautiful. This was my 2nd time in the last month. ![]() ![]()
