MOUNT CARMEL, Tenn. (AP) - Mount Carmel police say a Kingsport man clocked driving a motorcycle 156 miles per hour may have been testing the town's new speed enforcement cameras. Authorities said 23-year-old Loda Eugene Ward Jr. has been charged with reckless driving. Police say the cameras were not activated last week, but an officer on patrol clocked him at the high speed. Police did not pursue but an arrest warrant was issued and they detained Ward on Sunday. Mount Carmel police said Monday they suspect Ward was testing the cameras because he had removed his license plate to avoid detection. Police say the camera's maker has assured the department they will capture the image of a vehicle speeding up to 200 mph.

Exactly....either that or the kid wasn't smart enough and maybe his bike is customized to that you can recognize it as the only one in the county or something. LOL | |

The estimated population of Mount Carmel, in 2003, was 5,103. my guess is they probably know all the sportbikes in town however if he's from kingsport.. The estimated population, in 2003, was 44,231. so my guess is they dont have a lot of sportbikers there either!

| Guest Posts: n/a | Something be fishy about that story. I know here, if that would of been me, my attorney would of had me out before the door hit the officer in the ass on the way in.. It's a good damn thing I'm alot wiser and not that stupid to drive 156 MPH through town. |

Now heading to Searchlight or coming back from an Area 51 ride from Alamo to the 15, that's a different story.

I drive thru there every two weeks for work and it's heavily saturated with HP. The heaviest times are the beginning of the month and the end...obviously filling quota
