I Ride: '05 GSXR 750
So I went to Torrey last weekend for the first time. It was a great experiance. The riding up there was awesome. Thursday Myself, BrianT, and Jerry Mathers from the BMW crew road up to Utah. My mom drove her car. Friday I did sweeper madness and Fish lake. AWesome roads. I hit all 3 of my Dad's favorite runs. Saturday we went east through Capital reef and then into Hanksville or something. Sunday we got up and started home. Everything was going good until we hit Mammoth Creek road. I turned left onto the road and then there is an immediate off camber right turn heading down the mountain. I didn't make it. I rolled off the throttle even though i was on going about 20-30 MPH and of course the bike sat up I had no choice but to go off the road. As I did so I hit a 2 foot hole in the ground and was thrown off the bike. I am fine little bruises heere and there. The bike has a lot of Cosmetic damage.

That isn't the important part of this post though. The important part is that we are all part of an awesome community when we decide to be a motorcycle rider. This weekend was another reminder of that.

At the intersection to mammoth creek rd there was a group of harleys with a truck and trailer carrying a 600RR. After i crashed BrianT turned around to find me and then went up to the intersection to turn around back down the hill to get a tow truck.(the bike was about 40 feet down the mountain) When he turned around the harley guys asked what happened. he told them and the jumped into action. They unhooked the trailer and tied a bunch of tow ropes and tie downs together then brought the truck over and we all guided the Feejer up the mountain as they pulled with the truck. Awesome right well that is just the start of their kindness and sense of community. The bike still runs so I nursed it down the Mountain to Duck creek. As I did that the harley guys passed us with there truck and trailer. So did a couple minivans a few kids on tricycles you know the usual. Anyway We got to the bottom of the road and the Harley guys were there waiting. We turned to head for duck creek and cell service to figure out where my mom was. They turned also and passed us again. When we all got to duck creek we discovered that we were all headed to Vegas and they offered me and the FJR a ride. Mom was allready on her way back from Cedar city to get me so we loaded the FJR on the trailer and they took off. We saw them again in Mesquite I tried to buy gas for the truck but they wouldn't take my money. Anyway we all made it back to Vegas and later that evening I went and picked up the Feejer from the owner of the 600RRs house. So long story but good ending. I definitely had a hand over me. I am sure we can all speculate on whose hand it was.

If anyone know a couple that lives in N Las Vegas and has a Matte silver harley and an Orange and black 600RR props to them and their friends for helping out a fellow rider. Sorry so long Just had to express my gratitude and pride to be involved in this community of friends.

They definitly banked some road kharma that day. Very good people. Always love when people prove that it doesn't matter what you ride, we're all brothers and sisters as long as we ride.

Glad you're ok. It's cool to see that kind of help, especially from a group of harley riders. They're probably glad to not be towing one of their own for a change.

Did Brian end up taking pictures?

Great story, glad your OK Andy, but all said and done, it's great to see how people really can be. I know if I were in that same situation I wouldn't of hesitated to help someone out. Hope to get out and ride with you soon bro!!

Sorry to hear about your mishap Andy, but I'm glad you're OK. It just goes to show that there are still a lot of good peeps out there. Lemme know if you need any help with the FJR.
