I know with a lot of the hard core Harley guys, their bikes are their baby's and no one rides them but the owner. Are sport bike guys like that? I have let my friend ride my warrior, never really thought it was a big deal, he rides and wanted to try it. Did I break the biker golden rule doing that? Am I less of a biker for doing so? I know everyone will have a different opinion on this... just curious to get the opinion from the SB Community :)

I have no problem with friends riding either of my bikes...As long as I know they are capable of handling them (and have plata to back up any damages )

Same here... I actually enjoy having other riders take a spin on my bike and let me know what they think. And when my other bike is up and running, it serves as a loaner for friends who may have bike issues, etc... But its gotta be someone who I'm comfortable with as far as their riding is concerned.

Other than me, Gleno is the only other person to ride mine. Other than Eric, nobody else could touch the ground to get it off the centerstand. teehee

Good to know. Thanks. I remember hitting a biker bar in eastern Ohio one night back when I was just out of HS (yeah, drinking age was 18 back then lol) A friend was looking at this harley parked out front, he started pointing to something on the bike... Next thing I know this biker chick comes out and yells.... "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY MANS BIKE". Ok, no biggie, no ones touching it he said, and we start to walk away. Then "her man" comes out. That's when the shit hit the fan. The guy got real bent out of shape about it, and my friend didn't even touch it. Nothing really happened except a little shouting and shoving... needless to say, I was a bit nervous when all his buddies came out to see what was up. Anger and alcohol are a BAD combo.

hell, I can speak from both sides of the fence here..I don't mind letting ones I trust ride my bikes, and I have riden friends bikes as well...huh J Dubz? My buddy John lets me take his brand new CBR1000RR whenever I want to and I would do the exact same for others I trust as well. I am not a very matierialistic person, if something breaks or an accident happends, it can be replaced, that is why I only let people I trust ride my bikes because although I don't mind so much about the bikes, I just don't want anyone to get hurt on my stuff....So don't be stingy with your shit. |

haha... so being I never met anyone here in person before... guess I won't be swapping the warrior for a busa when I come up... LOL. It's all good though. I just can't wait to have the chance to get back up there for a few days. I have had a chance to chat with some real cool people here, I'm looking forward to meeting you all in person and maybe getting out and riding.

It's a matter of asking first with most bikers to even just sit on one. Then I'm guessing as everyone else has said, that it comes down to whether that person can ride well and knows how to respect other peoples belongings if they want to ride it. Personally i'd be too nervous to ride Eric's busa just cause of the power and my intermediate experience level.
