Last couple of days she has asked me to take her to school. Where I am happy to have her riding with me, having that extra movement on the back is a bit unsettling at times.

She hasn't been on it for a little over a year now, so she is still a bit nervous when cornering. I can feel her over compensating the lean which means more work for me.

I don't want to say anything, she may take it wrong... I just need to get her on it more often and get her use to it and get her over her fears. I was riding like an old man yesterday, straight up slow turns, speed limit all the way and she was still scared.

What is the best way to calm her fears with all this?

BTW - please don't tell her I posted this... Thanks!

Explain to her to stay in line with the bike. If she does this you will be able to make any necessary adjustments and always know where her center of gravity is. Once she becomes more experienced and comfortable, you can tell her to stay in line with your body, however at this stage in the game, she may freak out and start to lean and then come right back up. Throwing you off again.

Just some food for thought.

Thanks.... yeah, that was a good read. I do notice that she anticipates the turns and try's to lean before the bike and myself are actually ready LOL.

Think I am going to take her to dinner tonight when I pick her up and we'll talk. Ok, that was weird... she called as I was typing this... OH SHIT, she knows. LOL

Thanks again guys.

I tell mine to hang on tight...I tell her I love the way her chi-chi's feel pressed into my back and she complies...

Then I explain to her that she is just an extension of my body and to stay with me whatever I do. Explain to her that you WILL NOT do anything to hurt you or her and that especially means crashing.

If that doesn't work use the yellow pages...

I ride on the back of Gunit all the time and the first time I was not scared but more worried cause I did not know how he rode. Well, after the first time and I learned how he rode its a piece of cake. Riding and being on the back is two differnt things. You have to trust and thats the bottom line but also riding before helps. She needs to just learn to trust you and learn that she leans with you and the bike. If she has never rode before it will take her time to trust you and if your acting like a fool she will never trust you.

Also, side note, hitting her and yelling will not help, and rememeber there are ways we can make you pay for shit like that. If you value your balls your be a good little boy and ride safe.

I Ride: I'm takin over the GSXR 1000.. see that, babe? ha ha
The way I learned to deal with Mike taking corners is this... She is probably over compensating on the turns because she may be looking down at the ground to see how low you are getting or how close you are to islands, other cars, etc... She needs to look straight ahead or down the street that you are turning on... Tell her to keep her eyes on the street scenery ahead of the turn and keep her body centered with yours. That will help with her leaning. Michael barely feels me on the back of his bike... Don't get me wrong, I rode a long long time ago myself and the first time he turned, I overcomepenstated on the lean too because I was used to doing my own "lean"... I remember that throwing him off when we took that corner.. Now that I do the whole "look at where we're going" thing, he's rockin with me on the back.
