It's a good time to go over your bike and make sure everything is A-OK.

-Check tire pressure & tread.
-Adjust clutch cable/free play.
-Check/adjust throttle cables as needed.
-Lube clutch/throttle cables.
-Clean and lube the chain.
-Adjust chain slack.
-Check rear wheel alignment
-Check fasteners for tightness:
fairings, shifter, clutch/brake levers, brake pedal.
-Check oil level.
-Check brake fluid levels.
-Check brake pads (got enough meat on them?)
-Check brake rotors (clean, not scratched or damaged?)
-Check coolant level.
-Check idle, and know how to adjust it on your bike.
-Suspension: is it working smoothly/correctly ?
-Electrical: Headlights, brake lights, running lights, turn signals...they work ?

Don't forget your insurance and registration, as well as drivers license.
If your bike has a toolkit, make sure you have it with you.
Also take inventory of your gear and make sure its up to snuff.

I think you should add what needed in a small roadside repair kit for roadtrips to the mix.

Also make sure your blinker fluid is topped off!
