wierd title huh. LOL

Ok first question is the kill switch . I use it at stop light to talk or cool my bottom off. Is this bad?

Second question. I'm taking the harley class and they got different levels. A beginner course for those who never ride and a exp for those who have. I been riding for only 3 months but without problems and think I should take the exp course. Is this wrong? I mean I never fall. Know a lot of tips and ride pretty good.

1st you shouldn't turn your bike on and off, especially if it's carburated, you can foul the plugs. It's ok to do it every once in a while, but not every single light. Plus you put strain on the starter

2nd if you take the advance course you use your bike, the beginner is for using their bikes.

Not to mention it's hardest on the battery. It takes about 5 minutes of +4k rpm riding to recharge the battery from starting it once.

i would just leave it running there is no point in doing that except wasting good starts =] Id suggest yelling louder if someone cant hear you. If your next to me, you might as well pull up helmet to helmet cus i aint gunna hear shit your saying lol

just because you dont fall doesn't mean you know everything there is to know about riding =D

Almost anyone ive talked to who rode for a couple years, still took the beginners class and LEARNED.

So, id prob go with the beginner, then you will know you are ready for the expert!

Don't turn off the engine on the bike unless:
a- you are done riding (arrived at your destination, etc...)
b- there is a mechanical problem, and you are in a safe spot.

Turning it off at a light does not cool you off much at all.
After the engine is off, it does not instantaneously cool down.
It will still be hot, and will transfer heat to you.
Wear riding boots and riding pants...they typically do a fairly good job at insulating your legs from engine heat, not to mention they are much better in case of an accident.

Do yourself, and possibly others, a big favor and take the MSF beginners rider course. Then, about 6 months later, go for the advanced.

Take the beginner and use their bikes. You could of saved several hundred dollars taking the MSF at CSN, but if you can afford it have fun and learn.

Don't turn your bike off on the street unless it's an emergency. You need to stay in first till you have 1 or 2 cars stopped behind you before even sitting in neutral. I've seen video where dude saw a car behind him smoking tires cause he wasn't going to stop in time and he jumped forward in first maybe 2 to 3 ft, but it was enough to keep the cars front bumper from hitting him. Read you manual and it will tell you how hot is too hot for your bike to be running, if you notice it going over that take it in for service. As far as you being hot wear jeans (actually will keep more heat off than shorts will) and suffer with the rest of us. As a biker is fully acceptable to walk around all sweaty and shit. Wear it with pride.
