Here's what happened: Fractured Fibula, Fractured Lateral Malleolus right leg. A gnarly injury. ![]() The end result, 3 screws are now part of my anatomy. The small one is permanent, the two big ones come off in about 2 months. ![]() It also left a nasty looking scar. ![]() Here's how I get to browse the forums these days. I posed just in front of my screen. In all honesty, I can't sit and have my leg lower than my heart for more than a few minutes before it starts to swell. ![]() Mike |

I actually weaned myself off the pain medication two weeks after surgery. It was causing me anxiety and depression. My threshold for pain is pretty good for a wuss, but, I seem to be able to manage. It just hurts when it swells. Something that can easily be fixed by laying down and elevating my leg above my heart. The one thing that really got to me was the depression. My only saving grace is the tv, cable, internet, lots of movies, and text/multimedia messages on my cell. I've come to really enjoy getting multimedia and text messages since my cell is always on me. The best ones are from my friends that take MySpace style..... well, you know what I mean . It only sucks because I have to delete them because the ghetto replacement phone I got does not have a lot of memory. It doesn't even have a camera. I ran over my old one with my wheelchair. If anyone has a decent AT&T flip/slider phone that they don't use anymore that I can borrow, I'd really appreciate it. Anyway, thanks for the well wishes. I really appreciate them specially now while I'm down and out. However, just like the Terminator, "I'll be baaack." Last edited by Trackday.Net; 09-20-2008 at 10:59 AM. |
