I found a helmet in orange, fits good, tight and light. Maybe even light then my agv. It's a brand I'm not familier with. Arashani I think it's called. That and it's only 108 bucks! Is this a good deal. I originaly went there to fit a scorpion but they don't carry them.

Side note: they got the spinner jacket for from Alpinstar for 315.

I may be wrong, Howie would know, but I think that brand is exclusively for Cycle Gear

A cheap helmet that fits good is better than an expensive helmet that doesn't fit your head well.

You will find that some helmets fit a more rounded head, and some fit a head that is more oval.

I'm not familiar with the brand.

ride now sells them. personally i would get a better/known brand (scorp. hjc, Arai) with good support for shields and replacement parts.

+1

If it fits and it's SNELL or DOT approved then it's all good

You should get properly fitted by an Arai rep.. that way you know what true size you are and what shape your head really is.. it's not like you can see the top of your head.. ya know?

On my Shoei RF-1000 I have maybe 3/4" between my chin and the helmet. If I stick out my chin I can hit the helmet. Years ago I asked Gleno if his was like that and his wasn't. Mine is the first edition and they redesigned it a few years ago, so maybe they gave more room. But it doesn't bother me so I don't mind. I probably just have a funky shaped mellon.

Other than that my Shoei fits great, better than my KBC VR-1 (trackday lid).

Funny that you have an RF-1000 AND a VR-1 as well. But my fit on the Shoei is the same as you describe and mine is a few years old. I think I'm going to pick up an X-11 next.

I am learning one thing about Helmets.....They all don't fit the same. I got fitted for a Arai and I am a small and it fit so damn good , and the new one I just got on Sunday is a Medium and it is a little tight, so it really depends on the brand. I am in love with the Arai but the new Helmet I got now matches my bike and fits like a glove and I am happy. BUt I still want my Arai.

To expand on this... the Arai model line is made to fit different types of heads. So a medium Quantum won't fit like a medium Corsair. When an Arai dealer rep fits you, you need to take note of which model you were matched up with. It's not just the brand.

I think that Shoei is like that with the RF-1000 and the X-11. I'm not sure on the X-11, but I am pretty sure that some fit oval heads, and others fit round heads. It might be the lower-line models.

Cycle Gear took down all my fliers.... I guess my Co Sponsor for the bikini bike wash under cuts their prices too much so they will not advertise for them.

So I would have to say that price is too much. You can find it cheaper elsewhere. Go, find your size and order it on-line ;)
