We got this via email on Tuesday.

An accident during a "Leisure" ride on Callville Bay Road? RRRIIIGGGHHTTT!!! A leisurely ride on Callville Bay Road to me is like 60.

Commanders,

Please give widest dissemination to your troops. Two 57th Wing motorcycle riders had a severe accident this week while on a leisure ride in the Lake Mead Recreational area on Callville Bay Road. The riders were in a group when one lost control on a curve and exited the roadway, suffering multiple fractures. The second rider swerved to avoid the first and dropped the bike suffering road rash. Indications are that this happened one curve prior to the site of the fatal motorcycle accident that took a Nellis Airman earlier this year. Please warn your riders to avoid this road or be extremely cautious. The park service decreased the motorcycle speed limit to 25mph on some of the curves due to the last fatal accident. In addition, the terrain drops away from the edge of the roadway (which do not have
barriers) along several of the curves increasing the injury potential.
Speeding in corners, especially on this road, will kill your Airmen. SEG will be disseminating more detailed information on the Lake Mead recreation area soon.

I'm pretty sure that's Caullville Bay (sp?). Be careful peeps... it's not the track. Which brings me to this thread.

I am sure changing the speed limit to 25 will keep the people who are going 75 over the speed limit from going a little more over.

The fines out there are already crazy. They will definitely step up the patrol on that road, at least in the short term.

I thought so too, but "Callville" is correct.
