I've never done it before. Kind of looks squidy to me. Kind of like LED's on cars... But, I'm sure they will help you be seen which is a good thing, so I can understand the use.

Go for LEDS, neons will probably break on you quite often, just from the vibration of the engine.

Plus you can leave the LEDs on while you're parked and they won't drain your battery

the legality has been debated in detail in the past on other forums (702SB). The general rules regarding neon/leds on bikes are.... (this covers when your on public streets, not parked)

1. No blue or red neon ever.
2. No flashing in any color.
3. The LED pods should not be visible, the light should be seen indirectly (the glow).
4. No rotating color schemes.

These rules are mainly to keep you from distracting other drivers or from impersonating an officer. Don't bother looking up the NRS codes cause you won't find anything specifically mentioning neon/leds. I even got a letter from the head NHP guys office only referring me back to a section that is ambiguous at best regarding lighting of vehicles. It comes down to the officers judgment in the end.

I already have done this research last year when I picked up a kit to be used eventually. Hope this info helps.

Personally, LED/neon/etc are old news. Plus I think they are gay as they come. I've never been much for bling. Now if it served a functional purpose (ie safety) then go for it.

Here's the next thing I am getting for my bike. I've seen them and they are bright as hell.

I see all types daily here in Fl.... I def notice them on the orad at nite, and my vision is bad at nite, so that says alot for the safelty aspect of them. My pops has a set of green LED's in certain places on his cruisert, and I must say that they def come in handy during heavy rain. Something about that green glow makes them very noticable.

Some think it is tacky, and others like it. But the only person that matters is the person who paid for the bike. Stuff like this is really popular here in Fl. This place seems to be image oriented when it comes to the scene. Just be smart about it, and follow the laws. You can install them, and never turn them on, so you always have the option...... it does not hurt to install them IMHO....

Be safe people...
