For anybody...
Full Helmet, always!

Open face helmets are not nearly as safe, and comfort wise, unless you get riding goggles/shades/glasses, the wind with an open face will become pretty uncomfortable rather quickly.

Start them out with full face and they'll never know any different. Best way to keep the front of the skull intact plus they can avoid eating insects.

I agree. Besides the safety of having full protection. Unless you have goggles that seal around your eyes, wearing a half-helmet and sunglasses will mess with your eyes after a while. The wind will get in. Especially on a sportbike where the passenger is higher than the driver.

Try wearing a full lid, take the faceshield off, and wear sunglasses for a while. You'll see just how much wind gets around normal sunglasses.

BUT... If you insist on wearing sunglasses, by all means wear a pair with shatterproof lenses. Gleno knew a guy that wrecked wearing sunglasses and the lenses shattered and a piece of glass ended up damaging the guys eye.

At LEAST A Full Helmet and Gloves and Jacket with Armor especially on a sportsbike!

If you are talking about taking on a passenger, do the one thing everyone forgets. Make the necessary adjustments to your suspension, double check your tire pressure, chain, etc....
Make sure that your passenger knows what to do and how you want them to move, so that there are no surprises out there.

Be careful out there.

I always wore a full face helmet, mostly for safety but also keeps the wind and junk off your face, much more comfortable.

passenger, question
