So he wrecked in Red Rock first time we went riding ever, he's been gone a while and here's the project so far, I just need to put plastics on the right side and it's done.

Before:

Process so far:
Tank needed to be painted black to match new plastics

Hmmmmm black....

Bad angle, will have full pics soon

You have a unique method of painting.

Usually when I paint something, I put it on a stand, or some soft of painting jig sitting on a table. Or even hang it from something overhead.

I've never seen anyone cover a bike with plastic and use the bike for a painting stand.

Looks good Spooby

Like how you took care to protect the bike with the fairings off by putting protective covering over it. Good job not getting overspray on the bike while you painted the tank!! Oh wait, even a caveman can see that you put the tank on the bike after it dried and took a pic

looking good man

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yes i hang shit up to paint it, but all the fairings were off the bike anyways, the tank was almost full so i just masked everything off, didn't get 1 dot of overspray on anything, well cause i'm just that good of course! the shit looks the dope

So falcon... you were saying something about a caveman? Or maybe you didnt notice the tank was blue... and then it was black AFTER it was painted.

Fucking caveman indeed.

Hey whatever works. It looks good in the pics

I'd just never do it that way cause even if I vacuum bagged the whole bike, I'd still manage to somehow get overspray on it, and everything in the garage, my truck sitting in the driveway, my neighbor's wife and kids, a caveman, etc etc.

It's funny you say that, cause I just got a new HVLP gun it was the first time using it and I was getting all my settings correct (air/paint flow/fan width) by spraying on the plastic the bike was wrapped in, LOL!

Well, when I usually paint something I prep it by taking it to the shop and dropping it off first, then after it is done they call me to come pick it up...Then the color is right and I don't any overspray on the cat!!!
