I Ride: a turbocharged vacuum... i upgraded my broom...
ok, so lately i have noticed a lot of (for lack of better explanation) kids here getting crotch rockets. they usually (99% of the time) ride like assholes. just now on my way to the store, i see a group of 3 RIDING DOWN THE SIDEWALK so they wouldnt have to wait for traffic to clear. WTF???!! so i pull up beside them when they park, (since i have the kids with me i am in the car) and say, "you guys shouldnt ride down the sidewalk like that, there are other riders here and you make us all look bad when you do that." so one of them responds, "who the fuck are you, a cop? you arent riding anyway, so what does it matter what you say?" now im pissed. so i told him "when people ride like fucking idiots like you three were, and the rest of us get pulled over because of it, it bugs the shit outta me."

seriously, i wanted to black momma slap the shit out of him... why do parents let their kids get a bike if they arent going to teach responsible riding??? pancakes, anyone? seriously. and then on top of that i was trying to be polite about it at first... and he acted like a little prick. if mine acted like that...

Some people just don't get it.

Yesterday on the way home we saw a 500 Ninja like Leslie's, and as we were watching him, he procedes to pull in between the lines of traffic and lane-split up to the front.

Hell, we have seen moto cops lane-split hundreds of times. And not responding to a call either.

were they wearing helmets at least? When I was down by Laughlin on the AZ side I've seen grown ups on sportbikes without them. One guy (had to be in his late 30's) was (i shit you not) riding a brand new blue kawi sportbike wearing no helmet, a tank top, shorts, and tennis shoes.

Eric is black?

I guess I side with the riders on this one. I ride however the fuck I wanna ride. I've rode years without a helmet only dressed in the squid outfit and loved it. Only when I came out here did I realize how dumb it was to ride without a helmet and gear, but I find I dont ride as much because I have to put on all that shit. I also drive my car like a dumbass sometimes but the cops never single me out when I'm driving good. If you're not doing anything wrong, and have all your proper documents and get pulled over, then you have nothing to worry about. I bought a bike because I wanted to be like those guys riding on the sidewalk, not because I wanted to be a moto GP racer or enjoy the "scenery". They just need to outlaw sportbikes so the cops dont have to pull us over. Oh yeah and I hate people who use ... for every ...*(%$*&).... thing. A curse on all your houses...dot dot dot.....????!!!!!!!........!!!!!!!????????/!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Okay, most of you that know me know the above is bullshit, but I wanted to see how far people got into my post before they figured out I was full of shit...well on some of it anyway.

I mean they're punk ass kids, honestly if I were one of them and someone told me what to do I'd be like fuck off douche! Even if they said "you're on fire you might wanna get off the sidewalk and put yourself out"

People have authority problems, and they're already being derelicts, so telling them to do something is just gonna rub them the wrong way, you should have pulled up and said "hey you've got a nail sticking out of your tire, might wanna take care of that" Then watch them all get off their bikes, on the sidewalk no less and spend 5 minutes searching for nothing! That'll teach those punk asses!

Kids on bikes reminds me of this article:
Mom: Motorcycle killed my son

It's sad that her son died but the responsibility of the rider is in the RIDER, and maybe in that of his parents for letting him buy a bike that was too much for him.

that article is propaganda against sportbikes.

"he went out with two friends, accelerated down the street, smiled back at his friends and turned around to see a semi-truck turning in front of him."

but it is true that responsibility is with the rider... i guess the thing that pissed me of the most about them being on the sidewalk was that a few feet farther down, there was a guy in a wheel chair going towards them... what if they had decided to go further?

You did good. I would have probably said something to them as well. I feel that the outcome might have been a little different. I have had to put a few people in check on stuff like that. If I were you, next time, I would take their pictures in the act, lic. plates etc.... Then I would report it to the police.

Hey you are doing your part to change the concept that law enforcement has toward sportbikers

“I found that your life expectancy drops to five years from the day you buy the bike, in most cases to six months,” she said. “I also realized there are not speed governors put into these bikes, and they go off the lot able to reach speeds of 125 to 140 mph.”

"They’re targeting 16 to 30 year old kids, and there’s no guidance that goes along with it."

And how fast was he going when he hit the semi and slid 280 feet?

Crotch rocket, crotch rocket, crotch rocket. It's a fucking sportbike. Sensationalism FTW

Sucks for her loss, but that article make me want to punch someone in the throat.
