That happened at Moto Cafe today. I was having a new front tire put on and some guy on a ZX14 does a nice long burnout in the parking lot. Nobody was impressed. Of course it seems at every MARS event someone does it as well.

Mine is lane sharing. I've done it when I was in Ca and it was cool. But here it is not legal. Just yesterday I was passed by 4 bikes in a line sharing the lane going south on 15. One bike was from Ca and 3 were from vegas. I could give a pass to the guy from CA becase I would assume that he is just ignorant about the law here.....

*edit- by sharing I meant I guess lane splitting btwn the cars...

Above that is when I see NHP on bikes sharing the lanes. That really torques my chain. IF I can't do it then they should not be able to. (unless of course they are going to an emergency ((with lights on)) then that is ok with me.

I don't mind bikes lane splitting... I'd be pretty hypocritical if I did. But my pet peeve is riders who wear decent gear and take on a passenger wearing a tank top and booty shorts. Or even riders who don't wear gear and take on passengers with no gear.

I could care less if they split, and i likes a good burnout, to each their own. Now them passing you without you giving them the ok in your same lane would tweak me.

But, I would have to say seeing bikers speeding up about 25 to 30 over the speed limit on crowded surface streets just to impress their no gear wearing passenger chick really tweaks my nipples. I don't care if they decide to kill themselves, but the passenger is at their mercy in that situation.

Doesn't the passenger have to have responsibility for themselves to some degree in this discussion? I realize that people that aren't around motorcycles aren't educated in the need for gear, but if you get on the back of a motorcycle with someone who is a tool when they aren't on the motorcycle, what's going to change? This all boils down to the guys who think a 600rr is a starter bike, cause they're the one's who usually have a girlfriend dumb enough to get on the back with them! I do need to say that I don't have a full set up of gear for a girl if I were to give one a ride on the back, but I would sure as hell make her wear some sort of boot, jeans and jacket w/ gloves!

My pet peeve is the guys who stunt going down busy streets (no disrespect Jason Britton, but I think even he realizes how dumb it was). Guys pulling stoppies going up to lights, or wheelies going down the 95...

You CAN share lanes in Nevada, you CANNOT LANE SPLIT unless you're an officer on official duty

Really? What is the difference btwn sharing and splitting when it comes to cars and motorcycles? I have never heard that lane sharing is legal when it comes to cars and bikes?

So I can pass a car if I am in the same lane as it is, but I can't pass between 2 cars that are side by side even though in order to do that I have to share the lane with one of those cars? I don't think so.

If, you are talking about sharing the lane between you and another motorcycle then yes we can share lanes. But what I am talking about is sharing between a car and a bike and driving btwn 2 cars that are either stopped or are moving slow.

I'd say I can't wheelie, we're stopped at a light. Then I'd bust out with a 2nd gear stand up when the light turns green and never look back!

I love seeing girls on back with thongs on... and what does skimpy underwear have to do with tennis shoes?

Squids!

Too bad about no lane splitting here in Nevada. Studies have shown that it's safer for bikes to keep moving than being sandwiched between the cagers in stop and go traffic. I do it anyway from time to time.

Nice thread anyways.

YES!!!! I call that "The Yo-Yo Effect"

I'll usually tell that fucker at the next stop to keep checking their speed, say it's supposed to be 55mph or what ever, then that usually helps.

Gearless squids (the funniest to me is the skull cap on a sportbike) that ride like crap (fast in a straight line, yet turns like a retarded snail) and give all motorcyclists a bad name.
