Anyone own both? How is the fit difference? I have a RF-1000 and wondered if the X-11 fits the same. I have heard that the X-11 runs tighter than the RF-1000, but is it oval like the RF-1000, or is it more round like the Arai's?

I own both and these are the differences I've noticed:

Fit: the X-11 is a bit more snug, but not overly so. I feel that my X-11 actually fits better... it seems to fit really well with no tight spots.

Weight/Finish/Venting:The X-11 is noticeably lighter, has slightly better construction, and has about twice as many vents. I'm curious to see how loud the helmet will be with all of the vents open, though.

The X-11 is the same oval shape as the RF-1000 from what I can tell.

Here's a great review on the X-11 by Helmet Harbor.

Here's the link to their written review... great info here as well: X-11 Specs and Review

I have owned both also. The X-11 is what I currently use, and agree it is tighter fit. The ventilation is much better and it is lighter. Would definitely recommend the X-11 over the RF-1000 if price is no issue. Having said that they are both good helmets in my opinion and you can't go wrong. The wind noise is louder with the X-11. But you are going to get that with any helmet that is that well ventilated.

x-11 all the way, the woman has a rf 1000 and i just got my x11 fucking greatest helmet evar. if it fits you pat, get it. it might run a lil tighter at the beginning but will break in, and also a weight diff from the rf 1000 to x 11. the x11 is lighter, more air flow, lil noiser. but still awesome.

The biggest difference between these two Shoei's is the price and the ventilation. About $200 bucks more, and the ventilation is A+. But with that, it's going to be a tad louder.

If you fine that the X-11 fits a bit tighter than the RF-1000 for some odd reason, you can buy thinner cheek pads. They both come with a standard size, I think 33's but you can get them down to a 31.

I've had both and would only get an X-11 IMHO.

I'm wearing the X-11 Byrne in my avatar.

And here I thought that the RF1000 was a great venting lid. When I replaced my KBC VR-1 with the RF1000, I though "Wow, great venting and LIGHT!"

I just wondered if I ran across a great deal on eBay for a X-11 if it fit the same. Thanks all for the insight.
