So I am looking to start my own Motorcycle Safety School which would include a safety course, introduction to motorcycle safety gear, basic motorcycle maintenance and a few other things as well. Any idea's that could point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. My intention is to get something going that will help build motorcycle education and awareness and play a role in helping reduce the fatalities and serious accidents that involve motorcycles everyday. I want to make the learning environment more relaxed and enjoyable. Any comments, positive and negative will be considered..

I would think your first contact would be with VegasVideo since MARS is similar minus the riding liabilities. Joint venture perhaps? Are you doing a sanctioned MSF course? A course based off of MSF materials? Or entirely your own thing? If it is not MSF based can you make it a DPS/DMV/insurance recognized curriculum that gets someone the same value as taking an MSF? Assuming your doing a for profit class what kind of pricing are you considering to compete with existing MSF's already low pricing and its benefits?

This would not compete with the community college course, more with Harley's class price wise. You could not price at class like that at $100 and stay in business. This is an awesome idea with lots of barriers. Getting licensed is a really tough issue if you intend to do an actual MSF course. It also requires a substantial start up.

This can work, but would require a lot of outside help.

That is what I am looking for..It's a project in the works..Just starting the idea stage of the whole thing. I am a certified MSF instructor but I'm not exactlt sure what route I'm gonna go with this as of yet, due to a lot of the facts that Pat has brought up. I intend on trying to make enough to keep things up and running and to keep food on my plate so to speak.
