Wow girl. It took you forever to finally get in. What's it been, like 3-4 months? I remember the last time was the day of a Adopt-A-Highway cleanup.

It took them almost 7 months to get me back into a class and they couldn't even get me into Henderson... I had to go all the way to the Cheyenne campus.. eeek!

FYI: I just got some weird PM from some random kinda talking a little shit about my "best female rider" comment... For the record... When comparing all scores with the other chicks in my class, I scored the highest on both tests. Not in the mood for shit talkers or more bullshit... stand down child.

Great job on scoring the highest (of the girls) in your class :-)

Got me beat. I rode the dual-sport DR200 and couldn't stop the thing to save my life with those knobbies, and it was too tall to do the "box" figure-8 well. But I think I only got 2 or 3 dings.

Congrats. If there is a problem with someone in the group, just say the word. If you are the one trying to cause problems or harassing people, be warned, this is not acceptable here.

Again congrats, and maybe we will see you out there.

Congrats as well from a rider who just experienced the same feeling not too long ago as I became a MSF Rider's Coach or simply an instructor. Yes, it's a very rewarding feeling, so enjoy it, you certainly earned it. A lot of info is crammed in such a short time frame, and then you're tested.

Only if you like a top speed of 70mph.

I got Les the 500 Ninja and it was perfect for her. It's actually a lot of fun for me too. When I was breaking it in, it hauled my ass up to 132mph.

And with a lower center of gravity, the 500 Ninja was more "flickable" than my FZ1. I would have loved to do a trackday with it.

Once I dropped the rear preload and shaved 1.5" out of the seat, she could flat-foot it. Once she was able to flat-foot it during a stop, her confidence level skyrocketed.

I agree a 500 IS better, but don't knock the 250. My I had an 03, I topped out at 115mph (indicated) here my buddy has an 04', he tops out at 105mph (indicated) and he gets 85 MPG! It's amazing!

If you're at all aggressive, you will need more than a 250, but a 500 is waaaaay more practical, especially when having to speed up/slow down to avoid a hazard.

That too. With the 250 you have to plan things out too far ahead.

With Leslie's 500, she never did a top-speed run so I don't know how fast it would have gone with someone lighter than my 235lbs on it. I bet I couldn't get a 250 to go more than 65mph with me on it :-)

And when breaking hers in, even though I wrung it out I still got 55mpg+

Crazy MPG on those.

Can't go wrong with the SV either. Light weight, plenty of power too.

That's what we were going to get Leslie after she had some "road miles" under her belt.

I suggests the new 2009 Yamaha FZ6R. They have redesigned the FZ6 from an intermediate bike to more of a beginners sports bike. They added a full fairing to make it look like an R6 but it has small risers so you don't have too much of that aggressive riding posiition, which relates to great road visability. The engine is detuned from the 98hp that my bike has down to 78hp. It's much lighter and has a 30inch seat height. I think it has a top speed of about 120mph vs the older FZ6's which is around 160mph.

Available in white, yellow, blue, and raven. Out the door price for $7000.
