Just talked to Jdubz and he is understandably upset.

Metro police officer dies from injuries after early-morning crash - Breaking News - ReviewJournal.comhttp:/www.lvrj.com/news/breaking_news/44521912.html

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I was contacted by Sho nuff that he was related to a fellow rider Big Baby.

I saw that this morning and it's horrifying. I immediately thought of JDub as I'm sure every member of Metro are felt as brothers and sisters. I watched the news conference and it made me sick to my stomach the reason and the how it occured. My prayers are with his family, friends and with his Metro family.

Definately a sad ending. Wonder what the protocal is for Metro to use their lights and siren. Several witnesses said both cars did not have them on. But from those pictures, they had to be moving at a pretty fast clip.

How about we deal with the fact that one of OUR family just lost a fellow officer and a brother. There will be plenty of time to question protocal etc... Let's give that a rest hear and allow people to deal with there grief and let the media and public speculate. I would hope that this site and family could be a haven for OUR Family in a time like this.

I Thank each and everyone for their thoughts and prayers, this is a sad day for many reasons, the world lost a great father, son, boyfriend, friend and brother, and while most people understand this, the frickin media just kills me.
The realization hits that this could have been me!
I say (2) two prayers every morning before logging on.
The Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgement.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people. Amen.

A POLICE OFFICER'S PRAYER
Lord I ask for courage

Courage to face and
Conquer my own fears...

Courage to take me
Where others will not go...

I ask for strength

Strength of body to protect others
And strength of spirit to lead others...

I ask for dedication

Dedication to my job, to do it well
Dedication to my community
To keep it safe...

Give me Lord, concern
For others who trust me
And compassion for those who need me...

And please Lord

Through it all
Be at my side...

--Author Unknown

Now I pray for the family!!!!!
I leave you with this:
As an Officer everyone hates us, except when they need us.
We do the job many do not want, or could not do for that matter.

Yes we drive fast, but think about this: next time your family member needs us imagine to yourself us stopping for every traffic light.
Thank you for listening and to my friends thank you for thinking about me and my family on this very sad day.

JDub, this world is such a better place with you and all the officers that protect us and put their lives on the line by doing so each and every day.

Reading those prayers gave me goose bumps and now my mascara is running. Thank you SO much for sharing those with us.
