Hey all, bad news. I met a couple guys Dave and Dan outside Cycle Gear back in February. I haven't heard from either in a long time, but this morning got a text from Dave. Turns out he's been in the hospital for 7 weeks after a car turned in front of him at the last minute. He has a broken pelvis with halo (not sure what that means), 5 broken vertebrae and he broke both arms. Just got another text from him... he has limited use of his right arm and no morning wood! LOL!! He said his nuts were swollen the size of grapefruits. Well... at least he's got a sense of humor about it all.

Just wanted to let you all know and ask that you send positive healing thoughts his way, whether you know him or not. Also, this is a good reminder to all of us to be careful out there. Ride safe, choose the right lane or place in the lane, and always know where the cars are, and potential dangers and escape routes... we all like to live on the edge and push the limits, but be smart about it.

Wow! That sucks!
But, indeed, good that he is in good spirits.
I hope he heals up soon.

The halo is the rigging they anchor to bones to hold them together while they heal.

That sounds just like Dave (stuntdriver) from 702's accident. The broken pelvis w/halo is a crappy injury to heal from. Get well man!

Putting out the positive thoughts for Dave is nothing to be sorry about. I've visited him a couple times in the hospital and know he appreciates everyones well wishes.

+1 On that! Remember, when it comes to multiple lanes, one lane will always be safer than the other, it's your responsiblity as a rider to decide which one it is. Don't be setting yourself up for something bad to happen even if it's not going to be your fault.

Glad Dave is in great spirits and hope he is doing even better today than yesterday. Don't know the guy, but obviously he just expererienced something that we all don't want to go thru. Best wishes.

Hey, you guys should really go see Dave... or call or text him at least. I visited him on Sunday, and am going to go back to see him either one night this week or again on the weekend. I don't want to post his number or location out on the internet world here, but if you want to contact him or go visit him, send me a PM and I'll give you his phone number, hospital and room number. He's pretty stir crazy right now, so could really use some contact from the outside world. He's got at least another month to go in the hospital. Think about yourself being in that position. Let's all call him, email him, visit him to keep his spirits up!!
