Is this from his surgery? I thought he has recovered from that. Or did something else happen?

this sucks every one that rides a bike is not safe on the roads today if it where up to me i would have every person that has hit or worse lose there licsense for 10 years then put them on island where they testing on the nukes way back in the 75 years ago for 5 of these years. just to see what it is to be on a bike these days we all need to work together and get large fines and jail time for the cages that dont look out for there fellow driver on a bike get well soon and i hope u get your new 14 you want live well and maybe just maybe we well live just a bit longer then we hoped for good luck god bless.

Hmmmm... is that the same belt we had to use to pull him and the bike out of that deep canyon? If so, I hate to tell ya bro'... it's trashed from scraping up against the rocks!!

No. I gave him my belt when we picked him up at the hospital that night. The medics cut his up.

So far, there has been zero details about the crash, so we don't know what factors contributed to the crash. In time. I hope details will emerge as reading and seeing pictures will allow all riders, experienced and newbies to learn thru someone's misfortune, and possibly help them avoid similar situations. That's what makes forum's so great, it allows everyone to share and learn by providing a shortcut to information that a rider may not acquire so quickly.

But to say that every rider is not safe anymore is wrong. You can do things to minimize your risk, as long as you know the consequences. But everyone knows that you are taking a risk by just walking out your front door.

From what I have seen from the pictures so far, wearing the proper riding gear is the difference from making this thread from a Get Well Soon to a RIP.

Just shows that wearing all the gear all the time pays off. Plus the full face helmet.
