I use Craig P. Kenny he charges $50.00 and gets them reduced to parking violations.
My last ticket he handled was for lanesplitting on I-15. His phone number is 380-2800 call them and see what they can do for you.

Kenny's fine, but Jason does it for free and usually gets it reduced to the same parking violations. He's a fellow rider on the 702sportbike forum. He's handled 2 of mine.

Personally, I would fight it. If what you were saying is true, you should be commended for evasive action, not aggressive action. Was it a motorpatrol officer or a cop in a car?

All the cops that were cracking down on all the riders back in July were saying that they were sick and tired of cleaning up our mess. Well, if you didn't do what you did, then thats what they would be doing. Penalizing a rider who's paying attention, what a joke.

I don't understand the cops mentality. I know he is a professional, and in view of the court, they will side with the cop. However, he should use better judgement, and understand the whole situation. Otherwise, what's the point of even looking behind you everytime you stop. What kind of message is that cop trying to give you?

do you really think it would be worth the time and effort? i dont, its his word against the officers. bottom line, it would cost him more to fight it, then it would to be reduced to a parking violation. but then again, we do have rights. supposedly.

If you truly believe that you are right, yes. If you just let it slide, this type of thing will just go on. Maybe there is a chance that the judge will side with the rider, and put the cop on notice to use better judgement in the future. Also there is a chance that the cop may not even show up to court, in that case the court will dismiss the ticket.

But let me warn you, it is a very lengthy process and it will take a lot of your own time. As many have said, it's much easier to just pay the extra money and get it fixed.

On the other hand, such as myself, I want to have the satisfaction of dragging the cop down to court. I could careless if I'm found guilty or not guilty. Any cop who writes me a ticket will have to earn it. No freebies from me. I got a ticket on the first of January, and it's still pending. After going downtown 3 different times, I finally get my day in court in October. Ten months after my ticket. The last time I went downtown, the junior prosecutor offered to reduce my ticket down to a parking ticket, an offer that was given to about 50 other people, which they all accepted. I think I'm the only one that said no.

Yes, I am fully aware that I may be found guilty. Could possibly pay the full fine, plus court cost. Plus points on my license, insurance could go up. I don't care. Cops going to have to earn it by waking up early in the morning and go to court. He should thank me, I'm sure it's overtime for him. Maybe he'll buy me lunch.

It will keep going on anyway. Too much money in writing tickets, and yes its all about the money.

Go with Jason, let him deal with it and get it reduced to a parking ticket w/ no points and no traffic school.

I fought two tickets before:
#1 was for speeding and (I forget the term- but I swirved out of the way of a lady who stopped in the "fast lane" to let her kid get out and go to school) paasing a vehicle in the left turn lane (middle lane).
#2 was for impedding traffic (going 5 MPH UNDER the speed limit), for reckless driving (suposidly I was swerving in and out of lanes), and for method of display of plates.

I too had to go to court 3 times EACH ticket.

#1 (with both charges) was thrown out BEFORE needing to see a judge by the DA. I showed the DA pictures of the area during school time which showed it being NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to speed during this time of day. I explained to the DA the situation of the 2nd charge and that was dismissed. It took alot of time, but I knew I was in the right and fought it.

#2 I was found guilty by the "arresting" poilce officer (who coincedently wasn't ANYWHERE near me during the 8 miles the original cop followed me before pulling me over. I "represented myself" and EASILY proved the arresting officer falsly arrested me (the cop didn't know which MAIN streets I was on- he said BUFFALO, I was on RAMPART... I was never marandized, so I was in jail without knowing my rights OR what I was arrested for), BUT I was still found guilty. I got 8 points on my record AND got to pay a fine.

I wish I would've known about the lawyers who fight traffic cases and get them reduced to fines, but me being me I probably still would've fought the cases as I knew I wasn't in the wrong. Stupid PRINCIPLES!!!
