how are you doing on your bike? That is a whole lot more bike than what you have right now, so I would seriously think it over.

My take is, if you need another person's opinion to make a decision, you are not ready!

If you knew you were ready and capable you would just buy it! Unless, you are asking what we think of the bike (mechanically, in good shape etc)..

I remember you saying you rode your friends 600 around a block. Have you gotten more seat time on her? I would recommend that and or advanced msf course before purchasing!

I was planning on driving to Wisconsin soon, so I'd get it along the way if I got it. I was asking mainly bc I wanted to know if you guys thought the price was right for the mileage and everything.

I did ride a gxsr 600 for an hour or so and a Ninja 750 for a bit. I definitely like the power. I know I'm new ...thx for lookin' out.

In my honest opinion, No. And I'm a Yamaha guy.

Have you checked out the new redesigned FZ6? It's actually called the FZ6R now, which is still a 600cc bike but geared towards newer riders or women. It has a 30 inch seat height and the engine is detuned down to 78hp. They even come in varous colors thats attracted to females. Yellow, or white with pink flames.

Here's a link to their forum. Go lurk or join and ask questions.

Other than the whole "you need more seat time" argument, there are a couple issues I would have with this bike.

This bike is not the "supersport" class 600 of its time. It is heavier and less powerful than the R6/F4/ZX-6R/GSXR-600 of 2000. If you're truly ready to make the step up, I'd get one of the lighter, more powerful 600's I previously mentioned. Also, I would prefer a fuel-injected bike (like a CBR600F4i) for easier upgrades.

+1

Buy a set of leathers/boots and get to your nearest track day with that two-fiddy. Get some real training/riding in and you'll be ready for that 600 in no time!

I agree with E. I owned a 2002 version andd then went to a R6. THe 600r is cumbersome to say the least. The R6 is much more nimble and I actually felt more in control on my R6 after 2 days then I did with a year of the 600r. I'd def. just step to the R6 if your gonna upgrade to a 600 Yamaha.

I think it's overpriced considering mileage, condition and hassle of transport.
Only plus is color if you like it.

Going from 25 hp to nearly 100 hp is a huge jump. If you truly feel you are able to ride beyond the 250's ability look at a more realistic upgrade. An SV650, fzr600, hyosung GT650, etc are all better choices. If you don't think those bikes are fast enough, take a look at my latest video from Willow Springs. There are a lot of peeps on "faster" bikes that got passed that would dis-agree.

Good to hear that you are choosing to wait and research. I honestly think that you will enjoy a new bike better if you get the seat time on yours.

or a ninja 650r great bike handels great and has 65 hp that would be a great upgread now keep this in mind going from 25hp to 65 is a big jump but it is a great bike i have one and love it if after a year or so on it if u think u r ready for a bigger gain in hp then get a new 600 but keep in mind that going from 25hp to over a 100hp is like seeing like climing sunrise mountain and climing K2 just be safe and once i get leathers and some track time then i will upgrade but untill then i will stick with my ninja650r come to the next twt and i will show u my bike and u can ride it to see how it rides and u can feel the power differance it is a big leep and as always ride safe. at the red rock riders ride 4 rides went and one of them was my so so plz may the force be with u. u can call me and we can meet up so u can see the upgrades i have done to it.

If your looking for a 600 I would personally go for the F4I may be an older one. I rode one for years. Great bike about a 90 HP bike lower foot pegs and higher clip ons made a easy riding position.

It handled well and was a great bike until someone wrecked it for me.

We'll get you out on the Hyosung some day. That is 65 hp, but plenty fast...here is an example.

BTW...Mine isn't for sale
