I Ride: Shift Red 2005 Yamaha YZF-R1
Hey all,

I hope everyone is doing well. Ya, it's been forever since I've been here.

However, I'm looking for any good dealers (for used bikes) in this or even the St George area.

If anyone can shoot over some links or names of the dealers, it would be appreciated. I'm seriously considering getting an R1 again, but maybe any 1k bike will work at this point.

I would prefer to buy privately, but since I'd have to finance, I can only go through a dealer. So, I'll end up getting screwed and paying more, but if that's what I have to do to ride again, then so be it.

I'd prefer an older bike (2002 & up actually) because I can't afford a brand new one..

So, if anyone knows of any dealers that deal in good used bikes, please let me know so I can check them out.

Maybe some day I'll FINALLY get to ride with you all again.

Thanks,
Mat / South Bay Photography / GSXR_Wizard

Stay away from Carter Powersports. I called them for a specific bike they claimed they had in stock. When I showed up it turns out they did not have it, even though I reconfirmed 2-3 times before I decided to show up. When I spoke to the salesman he apologized but was more than happy to show me a different bike that he did have in stock.....funny how that worked out huh?

I ended up buying my bike at ridenow powersports off of craig rd with less BS. I was there last month and they had a good selection of used bikes. I think there were three newer GSXRs (2006s I think) there last.

Hey Mat, I would check with your bank or credit union for a vehicle loan first. If not, then go with the dealer. I bought the FZ1 from the Yammie dealer on Craig, pre-Ride Now, so I don't know how they are as for working with buyers.

After you have the money (or approved for a certain amount), get a Dealer Invoice on the bike you want to buy. It will save you thousands of $$$$$$$

I still like Tom over at Nevada Suzuki and there's another Tom over at Henderson Harley...

NVryder - I appreciate the info and input...definitely good to know!

Hey there Big E! How are you? I just got the message now and just worked a 13hr day. :-( But I'll definitely have to make it out to Dec's meeting. I just got out of training for my job, so now I'll have a better set schedule to figure out what I can do when. I remember Lajos...I'll check the thread and see what gives.

Pat - Thanks a bunch for the info. Actually I won't be financing through the dealer itself...however my finance company will only finance thru a dealer. That's why I have to buy the bike from a dealer itself. Kind of sucks because it's usually cheaper to buy from a private owner, but there isn't much I can do. I'm just trying to look around to see if I can find something in my general price range and then I'll be calling my finance company and giving them the lowdown to see what they'll do to help. But I appreciate the info..good tip!

Buell - I appreciate the info. I've been to Nevada Suzuki before to buy some decals for my GSXR last time..they seemed pretty cool. However, I'm looking more towards an R1. My 02 just seemed to fit me (or my riding style) better. My 02 GSXR 750 just seemed too twitchy or quick turning for me. I never felt totally comfortable on that bike. I'm probably just weird, but that goes without saying. LOL That's why I was looking at going back to the R1..but I live near there, so maybe I'll drop in anyway.

Hey stranger! There is a dealer in AZ selling brand new 08 CB1000Rs for $8K. Greg from Cycle gear on pecos got one. That might be a better option

Awwww...thanks. Same here...I hope all is going well.

Pat - I heard about the dealer in AZ...I think they posted it on the other site, if I recall correctly.

I actually went down today to All Power Sports in Henderson and asked them to send in the info to my finance company and go figure...my frickin' finance company won't finance motorcycles. I'm sooooo pissed right now. :-( I'm sooo bummed right now.

Now I have to try and see if I can find a finance company that will finance me...no easy task I'm sure. :-( So, looks like it's going to be a long while before I get a bike again. I'm totally bummed.
