Picked up some new Pilot Powers today. Also had Dale set up my suspension, and wow what a difference! A coworker had messed with it recently, and it wasn't responding the best during the Oatman ride. Had to fight with the steering for most of the trip. Finally, it's where it should be, and put 50 miles on the tires today, so I'm all set to ride.

Anybody have suggestions on a good place to ride to to test my cornering? I'm curious how it will perform with the work done to it. Going out tomorrow around lunchtime to play a little bit, if anyone is bored.

You've got 2 choices. Red Rock or Lake Mead. Be ware of Rangers at both places!

Wherever you go, if you havent been there before, ride thru it at least once so you have an idea of how the road is.

It really sucks to be hauling ass and then encounter an unexpected curve that you are going way too damn fast for.

Great advice, and I always follow it. Confidence went up with the suspension being tuned, but I'm still working on my tiltometer....should be getting farther over now that the bike's holding a line.

I'd go with you to Red Rock (that's my backyard), but my bike is still in track mode.

I need to get off my ass and change it back...

Nice thing about Red Rock, it's one way. You don't have to worry about vehicles coming from the opposite direction.

As Freddie mentioned, if a Ranger catches you, it's very expensive. And you better have your M endorsement and proof of insurance, if you don't, your bike will be impounded.

+1 on Racer's Edge. I had them install new tires, front & rear sprocket, chain, new Race Tech Springs and had my steering head bearings replaced by them so far

Well I'm trying to learn as much about track as possible right now, which would include switching over the bike....so if you need help with that....I wouldn't mind, I make a good garage bitch....wait, that didn't come out right...you get the point.

What speeds do most people average through Red Rock? And I always have all my documentation.

Side note - buddy just told me that in my home town in FL, first time getting pulled over for doing a wheelie, the cops are crushing the bike and fining the rider. Anyone hear about this or if it sounds true?

Here in Vegas, your front wheel comes off the ground, even from a tad too much throttle. It's considered reckless riding. Automatic impound, and $$$.

Maybe I'll get motivated tomorrow morning and do it.
If I do, I will post here to see if we can meet up.

Cool. As of now, a buddy and I are meeting up with Shortstack at Gas station across from Red Rock Casino, closer to the 215, around 12:30 to ride the loop a few times. Hope to see ya out there.

No worries, I'm sure we'll meet up, if you are able to ride during the day. We had lunch at Hog Wild up on the Summit....the BBQ pulled pork is awesome, and only 6$!

It was nice. Didn't get to go through it more than once because the Flight for Life chopper was towards the end, along with a lot law enforcement. A climber fell or something. Wasn't too chilly either, we went to the summit afterwards and it got a little too cold for my jacket. Need some winter gear. But always down to go ride Red Rock if anybody is ever looking for somebody.
