I don't know about you, but my means of making a living depend on my hands and brain. I don't skimp on gloves or helmets. I usually read lots of reviews on gloves that have been crash tested. I've always liked Dainese myself, but there are lots of other great brands out there and I've always thought highly of Held. Every now and then Cyclegear gets some Held gloves and I think they fit very similar to Dainese, and are even more comfortable. Held is known for using very high grade materials.

Here is a review from SportbikeTrackGear.com

I have some Teknic gloves that are new in the package.
Size large.
$35.

Try them on and see if you like them.

They look like these:

The knuckles have a hard piece/armour over them.
They also have a wrist strap, plus the gauntlet strap.

I recommend the Cycleport Air Mesh Kevlar Gauntlet Gloves.

I wrote up a review on the gloves & pants earlier on this forum.

Air Mesh Kevlar & Gloves Review

They stand behind their product. If it ever wears, tear, even from a crash, they will replace it. Should be the last pair of gloves you will ever have to buy. Before I bought these, I would wear out my gloves every six months. Something would go wrong, the seams would start to split, certain parts of the gloves would wear out, etc. So far, these gloves are holdinng up very well.

Most importantly, they are made out of Kevlar. Ten times stronger than leather, and unlike leather, they will not lose it's strength everytime it gets wet. Wash it as many times as you like.

I bought a pair of Alpinestars GP Plus gloves last summer and I like them a lot. They're a nice compromise between a street glove and a track glove. Newenough still has a few of these at closeout prices:
