2010 Yamaha FZ8 Site - Yamaha of Europe

I must have slept on this one... I had no idea Yamaha was going to build an FZ8. This will be interesting if it replaces the very capable, beginner-friendly FZ6. I can't wait to see some actual (not artist's renditions) shots of the complete bike.

Hmmm, could that mean they will be making an R8 using the same engine?
That would fill a nice gap there, where only the gixxer 750 lives.

That might make me want to switch over to the Yamaha Family.

Yeah, it's been the talk around the FZ6 forum for a couple of months now.

Here's another link about the FZ8, available this summer.

Yamaha FZ8 on sale in Summer 2010 - | Motorbike reviews | Latest Bike Videos | MCN

First I was very dissapointed that Yamaha decided to modify the FZ6 into a FZ6R. Detuning the bike from about 100 hp to 78, and changing it from a half naked bike to a full faired R6 replica, all this for making it more attrative as an entry level bike rather than an intermediate level bike.

Then, they discontined making the traditional FZ6 after 2009. WTF

So now begins the FZ8.

The FZ6 is a great bike, had mine for about 30 months. I have over 37,000 miles. I ride it everyday, as it's my only ride. It's a great commuter and it can carve up the twisties, as I often ride down to Palomar Mountain and ACH a couple of times a year.

Only mechanical issues I have had was the steering head bearings. Got that replaced and that's it.

Yamaha, it goes all day and everyday. Very dependable. Best $7000 I've ever spent.

It's almost here!

Here's a link with some more pics with technical specs and comparisons with other bikes.

Hmmm... somewhat similar...

I like the looks of the FZ8 better (except for that big, black turd of an exhaust), but give me the added grunt of a 1000cc motor and radial mount brakes.

The FZ1 is still bad-ass, though.
