It's time to put together another MARS Event. Since we are going to the Tracktactics events at Streets, this may be a good time to do a trackday theme. I am thinking of bringing in either Dave Pyles from Fastrack or Matthias from Tracktactics to talk about trackdays and the schools. I also wanted to go over how to prep a bike for a track day and what gear you need.

Track Day Preparation Agenda
Sunday March 7, 2010 9am to 5pm
Las Vegas Dyno Tech

1. Introductions
2. Why should you do a track day: The advantages of getting your adrenaline rush on the track and not the street.
3. What gear do you need to get on the track? This covers the basics of what gear is required. Do you need all new gear or can you add a few pieces to be compliant. We will show different types of gear that are sufficient for a level 1 track day.
4. Physical Preparation: This will cover what types of exercises you can do to reduce fatigue, stretching and proper food and drinks
5. Motorcycle Preparation Basic: How do you make your bike “track Ready”?
6. Bike Prep: We will actual show each attendee how to prep their bike. They will prep the bikes on location.
7. Generic flag and track rules.
8. Body positioning
9. Braking
10. Suspension Setup: Each person will, with assistance, set up their suspension
11. Q and A
12. Wrap up…go home.
I am still working on details. I have one of Greg’s guys from Cycle gear coming down with different examples of leathers, boots gloves etc. Trying to get either Lee or one of his instructors to come down to do the Body positioning and braking exercises. I have a call in to Matthias to talk about the track day aspect. Steve will be doing the bike maintenance parts.
I am going to charge a flat fee to each attendee. The fee will include the class, donuts and coffee in the morning and sammiches for lunch. The will also get discount coupons from Cycle Gear and LV Dyno Tech

This is a good idea.
Good topic.

Sounds good, and I should be in for it.

Does Cycle Gear carry chest protectors ? (can they bring some for demos too)
I could bring mine, it seems this item is often overlooked, and I haven't seen stores carry them.

I am looking to charge $50 per person for the full day. That's pretty cheap considering what we are giving them.

I will check on the chest protectors. I would like you to help out Freddy. I need people who have track day experience to help with demos, bike setup etc.
