Comparing insurances to someone elses is like comparing apples to oranges..

Best thing to do is to get all your paperwork ready, and start calling..

Everyone has diff credit scores/accidents that effect your rates.

Multiple car discounts, the displacement of your bike, year. etc..

example

farmers insurance wanted 330 - JUST FOR THE BIKE - a month because of my credit.

country insurance didnt check my credit and im paying 210 for FULL insurance on 2 vehicles, a shitty ass jeep and my bike.

I've been with progressive for 5+ years. I told Farmers to KMAB.

Age, credit report, driving history all has a factor.

1200 cc's full coverage $200 a year

Take the Experienced Rider's Course from CSN. One day class, $60 and you use your own bike. With the completion card, it will enable you to get anywhere from 10-30% off your insurance depending which insurance company you are with. Great class for those who are still riding without an M endorsement, pass this class and you're legal.

However, State Farm does not offer any discounts for taking a safety class. But it doesn't mean you can't stop asking around. But make sure you ask how much of a discount you can get if you have taken a safety class.

He never shopped for me? He laughed at me after he got back his estimate(insanely high rates) and told me to try calling my own places...=\
