Definately not things we would like to see or hear. Even though less than 10% of motorcycle accidents are result of rear end collisions, accidents like these that wipe out the entire group sitting at a red light might change that stat.

Warning, very disturbing.

Damn, that sucks.

The truck driver admitted to not paying attention. Maybe if this stuff was criminalized, people would take operating a vehicle more seriously.

3 people dead and 6 in the hospital, what a shitty day.

This makes me sick. Whats more, this driver will most likely get hit with careless or reckless resulting in death and at most loose his CDL and a few fines - a slap on the wrist... I would love to see this guy charged with murder! If you accidentally fire a gun and kill someone, its still murder... This should be too.

I also think that motorcycle training should be MANDATORY for all drivers, regardless of if they plan to ride... it would up the awareness. A few countries in europe require it - or at least an major awareness thing for motorcycles. The other problem is we dont enforce enough here. We deal with DUIs and such all the time here but in most of the EU, its not a problem... thats cuz you only get ONE chance. after that your done.

God speed to those downed riders.

This just underscores the need to act like everyone is trying to kill you... because basically they are...

I'm speechless as well. Something that brings tears to the eyes and sadness in the heart. Truely sad.

Just saw the death toll at last count is 4.

This truly is sad and the scary part is that there is talk that this guy had been cited for previous violations.

At least they laid it on him somewhat for it, though I wonder if he tested clean what the outcome would've been ... I said it before in other forums that have posted this story and I'll say it again... Check your six, I think of intersections like the Thunder Dome death in the form of tons of steel, aluminum, and plastic coming down the road, and all looking for you... or not looking rather

R.I.P to those that died, condolences to the families, and get well soon to the survivors
