so i need to register my bike now that my out of state license plate sticker expired. does anyone know if the people that do the vin checks by the DMV deny things that are customized? Or do they just care if the VIN numbers are true? my bike has a few customized parts on it. like led turn signals and an undertail. thanks

I've never had any VIN checks, just brought in my title paperwork that had the VIN on it, went to the desk, they typed it all in and handed me my plate and sticker.

As long as everything works your fine. Two of my bikes needed VIN checks and they didn't look at anything else, but the beat up car in front of my had everything checked.

i went to the DMV in henderson and they told me that i needed a vin check before they can do anything. I know that LED turn signals are not DOT approved. So, i'm afraid they wont approve my bike through vin check for that or my undertail since its not factory made. | |

Any vehicle from out of state requires a vin check. If you trailer the bike, they may not even bother with the other stuff. If you ride it in they will be a bit more strict.

Rode mine in a few weeks ago to DMV up on Decatur. I have all the mods you have plus more. All the dude did was write down the vin and asked me what the mileage was and I was good to go minus the 4hr wait in line of course.
