Have needed to buy a new lid for many months and did not want to go though the hassle of shopping/comparing prices and actually breaking it in. Put it off as long as possible and started today at Cycle Gear thinking I needed a Arai xl to fit my head......Gregg at CG spent 45 minutes with me to properly fit my head and ended up buying a Shoei RF 1100 in a LARGE..........The guy is great. So I figured what the hell if it costs a couple bucks more than on line I'm happy to support his business. WRONG, the lid is $20 cheaper at CG than helmet city. If you ever have the chance to talk bikes with him, do it. He's been riding longer than some of you guys have been breathing......A really cool experience, just my 2 cents. Barry

I actually just called that store for a quote on tires and spoke to a Kristen... she was super nice and informative as well. I love going into that store because of the people that work there.

I agree...very cool and he has always been great and took time to help me out. Gives great insight on things and also looks out for the RIDER/CUSTOMER even if it takes him a few minutes more to help them. You don't see that anymore. He even helped me out with a back protector yesterday when I was getting one to replace my last one (it was too long for my height) and we discussed the SCS BBQ. Top notch guy!

She's at the one on Pecos too?

I spoke with her yesterday afternoon at the one on Decatur. Maybe she works at both? Double dippin'?

But I agree, she was very helpful when I spoke with her as well. Helped me exchange something for the right size.

What I also like about CG is they are cool enough to hold something for you (especially if there is one or two left) until you can get there that day. Very, very cool!

LOL..well, I don't think it's anything bad that you called Decatur instead of Pecos; just means you'd be taking a further trip out. However, if they aren't right off the shelf, then you might as well order them through the Pecos store and make it much closer to you. I would imagine the pricing should be the same or if you told Gregg or someone there about it that they would help you with that part.

Yep, Gregg is the man! He manages to make doing business with a relatively large company like Cycle Gear feel like a neighborhood shop! Very attentive to the customer and a true riding enthusiast!

Ya, they have to be ordered. I called the Pecos store and they actually quoted me a lower price for the set. About $15 cheaper for some reason, but they told me the prices should be the same. Anyway, not to steal the thread... Props to Cycle Gear for being a great store.
Very well put Eric... They make the store feel like a small local shop.
