Does anyone know where I can get some good track leathers? I've tried on a few at Cyclegear but I discovered that I am in between sizes. I just can't seem to find the right size. I've had a couple of people tell me about custome leathers but they want like $1200. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Here's a place that does the custom leathers, but they're right around the price you mentioned:

PILOT - Custom leather suits, jackets and pants

If you're hard to fit, paying around $1K for custom leathers is actually a bargain.

Otherwise, if you want to get a good deal, you'll probably have to go online... I'd start here:

Suits > Leather Racing Suits :: New Enough

If you're having problems finding a perfect fit, then custom is your best bet.
Otherwise, find a compromise.

If the smaller size is too tight, and the larger size is just a little big, then get the larger size.
If the smaller size is just a little tight, and the larger size is too big, get the smaller size.

Keep in mind that you might want to account for a back and chest protector in your future, so allow some room in the chest/back for that.

Just FYI...
Here is a size 46 suit for $330.
FieldSheer Radar 1 Piece Race Suit - Closeout Price: $329.99! In stock NOW! Why pay list price of $549.99?

I tried on the Frank Thomas both 1 and 2 piece. 46 size was correct on length but I couldn't get them to close on the waist. The 48 fit around the waist but the length was too long. The jacket for a 48 was to tight but the sleeves were too long. I also tried on a Joe Rocket size 48. Jacket was too tight and sleeves too long pants were fine around the waist but too long. Even squating down the knee pads were still on my shins.

Try a few other brands...as typically fitment varies amongst them.

Good Idea. I'm actually headed to Phoenix, then L.A. tomorrow. I will try to hit up a few shops out there to see what I can find. Thanks for the link Freddy. Can't beat the price and sizing for Fieldsheer is way different from what I have seen.

well first thing is, whats your budget? Aydenleeracing.com can make a suit custom for 1k.
have you tried dainese, alpinestars, etc. those are all the leading brands. though stuff is cheap, doesnt mean its always the best.

also try looking here, some hidden treasures on this site.

I've seen an ad from Pilot leathers- custom made on sale for 800$
They are in California and a member on another site got a set and is very pleased
You could go to factory for fitting or just send measurements.
Different brands off the rack do fit very different.

So went to cyclegear om Decatur today. Much better selection than the one on Pecos. Spent about 2 hours there trying on just about every suit and jacket combination they had. I ended up with a 1-piece Frank Thomas suit for $200 and a Dianese back protector for $100. The suit is a bit snug with the back protector on but it fits everywhere else. Glenn is the one who helped me out and said that the leather will stretch. So now I just need some boots and I should be good for the track on November 28th. Thanks guys for all of the input.

Sweet!
Make sure you wear it on a few rides before the track day to break it in.
