So I spent all day at this junk auction waiting to bid on this gsxr with 7000 miles on it. Everything was selling cheap until they came to this bike. Shit, I didn't even get a chance to bid it shot up in price fast. So some sucker ended up paying 4000 + 400 buyer fee plus tax. 4800 for a bike at auction. Could've got one on craigslist for the same if not cheaper. Lol

That's not too bad, depending on the condition, mods, etc... . Do you have to pay sales tax on auction bikes? That definitely would suck.

Totally stock, dirty, scratches, had to pay sales tax there and then you still had to work for the title! That would have been a good price for owner-seller, but not at auction. I was hoping to make a quick buck and the bike was listed on craigslist for auction.

I've done that before. Auto auctions are real hit and miss. I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to working on Honda cars and I've bought a couple of cars to turn for cash. Doubled my money on a Civic with a little paint and body. And made about $500 on a 3rd gen Prelude, but put in way too work for the cash. The problem with places Goodbuy auto auctions is too many people have same idea. Also there are people going there without a game plan and bidding without knowing vehicle values. Most of the vehicle are trashed, neglected, or wrecked. Very seldom does nice cars/bikes come thru with all the crapy cars/bikes. And when they do, you better believe people will usually bid more than its worth.

Back about 7yrs ago or so...I had a friend that worked for Quality towing and he would give me the inside scoop on what vehicle that had coming up for auction. I really wanted to land this black twin turbo 93 RX7. The only problem with it was the clutch was shot. I had him check it out for me during work and it was solid. I brought $5000 thinking I would surely be having it towed to my house...they towed it thru for bidding. It went for $7000 even before I could blink. And I know the guy that bought it had no idea about it's condition. It couldn't even drive on its own yet. It had to be pulled thru bidding on another vehicle. Lucky Bastard, Im still hatin on him.

I was looking at CL from my home town and found an 06 ZX6R with less than 2k miles for 4000 obo. Pictures are deceiving but the bike looked like it was in excellent condition. Wish I had the extra cash for an extra bike back home so I could rock the lake roads back there.
