Hello,

I'm a very avid motorcyclist from Kansas. Active in my local motorcycling community, and to a lesser extent the MC community in nearby Kansas City. Been riding a mix of cruisers and sport bikes for the past 10 years or so, I currently have a custom '99 Hayabusa that me and a friend of mine just finished, and an '04 R1.

I'll be moving out that way with my GF of 5 years who rides the R1 when we go out riding together, although she doesn't like riding in large groups what so ever.

Between injuries and my R1 being broken at the most inopportune times I haven't made it to the track this year. It's my understanding there is one pretty close by over there? Definitely looking forward to that! Is it open for track days through more of the year since it doesn't really get too cold out there?

I've been kind of lurking around here the past few weeks. I'm likely going to be moving from Kansas to Vegas soonish. Don't have an exact date just yet. I have living arrangements made though, and I need to get out that way and do some job scouting.

I'm a tattoo artist, I'd like to know which Tattoo studios are considered the better ones to go to. I've found quite a few studios out that way, and several looking for help. When I come visit I'd rather not waste my time scouting out the hack shops if I can avoid it. If anyone cares to share this info it would be VERY much appreciated.

It looks like there are lots of nice roads, and fun stuff all within reasonable driving distance of Vegas. Nice weather too! Man the winters here are killing me. After doing some searching around this forum is much much friendlier than the local forums I'm used to here. Talk about some ribbing.. haha.

I just read the bit about this actually being a patched riders association. I've never been involved with anything like that, not sure I want to.. we'll see. This seemed like the most active Vegas bike forum google could find though, so I hope you guys don't mind me hangin out anyway.

Not sure if you guys like pics as much as all the other forums I'm on, but here ya go anyway!

The Hayabusa's build thread:
My 99's makeover in progress

Pic was when I first got it. I've removed all the spikes!

Welcome to site. Love the bikes!!!! Digging the metallic copper color. You will find that even though this is a patched club, it is very different from the other patched clubs that you may envision. This group here is about the love of motorcycling and hanging out with a good group of friends.

There are lots of group rides to go on. I never rode in a group until I started riding with these guys (and girls) and all I can say is that there was no pressure. I have even taken my 10 year old son with me a couple of times. It is a very family oriented bunch. Which was one of the reasons I started to ride and hang out with them more. Heck, my wife and my 2 year old daughter love to hang out with, "the guys", as my daughter says. I don't think you will be disappointed. But this is only my $.02, FWIW.

Wow... that looks AWESOME. I love the Gixxer tail job. My Busa is jealous.

Welcome to the forums and a big +1 to what JetMech said. We are a community/Club and we encourage you to come hang out with us. Let us know once you move out, or even if you happen to make it out earlier for a visit.

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm pretty excited about getting out of here. This place is closing in on me fast. Economy crunch is starting to hit pretty hard here.

Vegas just happens to be an easy move right now, I'm really hoping it works out. I Need to secure a job. I'll be out there sometime this month checking stuff out.

I've never been to Vegas, haha. Can you believe that?? A good friend of mine just closed on a house out there, said we could stay with him for however long. So, YAY! We'll be out there as soon as he finishes getting settled in.

You aint in Kansas anymore! Welcome to Vegas...its a great place to live. But like anything, you get what you make out of it.

I've been through Kansas before. Where I was in Kansas was Flat, I mean really flat as far as the eye could see in every direction. It was very surreal for a kid that grew up it the Vegas Valley.

Nice bikes man, again welcome aboard.

That shit freaks me out. I went back east once and for some reason I became somewhat anxious and disoriented. It took me a few days to realize that I kept looking for mountain ranges.

Nice work man! I don't know how steep the competition is for tattoo artists, but you got skills man.

I like that Cherry blossum, Shades of grey, and the Reaper with the AR. Sick with it!

Welcome and nice R1 and bass boat! err... busa i mean. fairly new here myself but so far a great group of people.

Not a huge fan of busas myself, but can respect the work put into it and I have a soft spot for orange and black so i'll let it pass this time.

I also would like to find a decent ink shop so If you find one or get a job with one, let me know. got some work I would like done.

Anyway, welcome.

The R1 is a LOT more fun to ride, that's for sure.

Welcome!

Ive been tattooing for about 14years now, 9 here in vegas. I could probably help point you in the right direction.

Just to give you a heads up though, theirs ~180 tattoo/piercing shops in vegas. 60 or so are permanent cosmetic but the rest are regular shops. In order to tattoo here you need to be sponsored by a currently licensed shop here in Nevada or a licensed shop from another state. You will also need to take a 100 question general knowledge test on safe practices, sterilization, sanitation stuff. You will need to take you First aid, CPR, and PDT classes from the red cross (annual) and you will also need you shot records updated (tb test, hep vac).

Health department-
(702) 759-0677
Tattoo, Body Piercings and Permanent Makeup

I would start there and schedule yourself the classes and test (its like a month wait) and give me a heads up before you get here and I'll meet up with ya for a beer. I'll also keep an ear out for places to work.
