So yea went down in mid intercetion on Charleston and Vista Center. Accidentaly popped the cluch and bike went to 12a'clock i went one way bike went other way. Bike is totalled Thx to Tomy his friend and Austin for coming and helping me out bringing the bike home and checking up on me. Funny thing was when it all happened a Metro cop was goin the other way and he saw the whole thing happen but he just droved by without even asking if im ok. I got up right away with no injuries, was wearing all the gear, jacket boots gloves knee pads, will be just bruised. Cops were all over after that but did not receive a ticket which he said he could of easily gave me one. So now im going for vacation and back in my car driving around :(

Well it shouldn't have been you, your title kind of mislead me. Glad you are okay.

Hard to believe the bike is totaled? You sure? How many miles did you have on that bike?

As a beginning rider, it's best to buy used, it's a little more forgiving in case something happens, and it usually does, whether it's you or somebody else.

3500 miles is the average miles for new riders to crash. I read it somewhere, but can't remember.

Glad your ok. Good thing you were wearing your gear. Even if your insurance does total the bike, it might be worth buyi g back since it's such a low mileage bike.

What's so surprising about going through a drive thru on a bike?

I do it all the time, plus you automatically receive a cash discount every time you use the drive thru. Just look down at the pavement when you reach the pickup window and you will see all that loose change. I saved almost a dollar the other day. That was a 20% discount.

If hes like me, he can reach without dismounting... rocking the bike through drive up is the shiznit! i do it all the time. I found a $20 one time a while back.

but im tall enough to touch the ground with both feet too...

sorry, had to take a stab at ya.

although it sounded way funnier in my head.

Sux about the get-off. I have had my share of "the worst possible moment" mishaps myself.

I might as well, I have to wait forever to get my food anyways. Plus I have to dismount to dig out my money and then store my food in my tail bag. So yeah, why not pick up some loose change that's on the ground while you just stand there and wait.

do it all the time... Taco Bell, Burger King, Popeye's, Robertos... just stuff the bag in your loose half-zipped jacket and ride back home/work/wherever... the bad part is the smell of the food coming into your helmet just makes you even more hungrier!

Umm...tank bag reduces the smell in the helmet and will save your goodies in the event you have a drive through get off or some other misfortune...plus if ya have fries ya can grab em much easier at the stop light..just remember to flip up the face shield first otherwise...well it aint pretty

haha, just thought of that carls jr commercial with the robot...

But back on topic. The crash isn't as bad as u think. You are ok with the exception of some soreness and a bruised ego. Most of your bile is in tact it looks like. I have had some where it took bags and plastic tubs to collect the parts. Get back on the horse as soon as u can and you will pick it right back up again. Very humbling for sure.

Just remeber, people don't learn by doing the correct thing... they learn by screwing shit up. God knows I have "learned" too many times. That and there are 2 kindof riders anyway, ones that have gone down anones that will go down. Hopefully you stay in that first category for a while now.

not sure if they woulda helped out too much though considering the bike went end over end.. but i do see some the sides scraped and yes, that could have helped ya... but, the main thing is getting the bike ride-able. Which looks like a new wheel, handle? and rear sets?? Anything else? IF thats it, your only looking a few hundred bucks to get her rolling.

If you want her perfect again, it might be lil more..
