Thiers a magazine company in Italy that released photos of the new Ducati 1199s and Ducati had them remove all the mags from the stores, the magazine company is now in a law suit with Ducati, I have the magazine with the article at my house, ill post the article up when I get home. but the picture they showed is the same I found on this web site, minus that graphics... I believe they said the bike is built off of the engine meaning theres not frame.

Who wants to guess its $7,000 more expensive because of having less parts. lol

You are correct. Ducati has been trying to refine this technology for a few years now as have other MotoGP teams. Many current MotoGP teams are experimenting with this. The frame-less bike concept means the engine is a stressed member of the vehicle. This translates to the engine case being cast with extra mounting points and webbing to be able to mount and support the front and rear suspension and also the sub-frame area or a similar piece that is used in lieu of. This also means the engine experiences all of the twisting and flexing moments that are exerted while racing just like a conventionally framed bike would. The diffucluty has been reinforcing the engine case to keep deflection to a minimum so that the forces aren't transferred to the rotating assembly inside and cause premature failure. Pretty trick shit!!!!!
