You can always spot an inexperienced rider who has never been down by the lack of gear worn. It only takes one wreck to start suiting up properly. (for most lol)

I mean, I have never gone down, but common sense? the other day I saw a guy in vans, shorts, tanktop, half shell helmet and no gloves, mobbin down the freeway.

This. I'll regale all of you with Tomy's story since he's in Germany. When he was young he rode his motorcycle a little too fast, without gear, and went sliding down the road. He said the worst part of it was when he went back home, his family had to grab the Brillo pad and scrub his already rashed skin in order to get all of the pebbles out.
