Uuuhhh okay. So now, the already hard to read Kwak tach becomes even harder to read??? Pass.

And what's with the ultra rainbow-ish colors ???

Is Kawi soon to become synonomous with uummmm.......alternative lifestyle???

Come on Gleno, those are examples. Some people want the shift up indicator light in white; some other people want a green bike with a green backlight or the “RPM out of range” in red.
The new tachometer is prettier (2006), has an analog needle for the RPMs… but is even harder to read during the day.

What?? That's it?? That's all you got??

Trying to take a shot at the mighty Zook....to cover for Kwaks inadequate tach setup?? C'mon Lucy, you can do better. Zook makes it's tachs ultra readable (and very hetero), on purpose. They realize in a performace oriented application, it's not a cute (or pretty) speedo that matters. It's the RPMs we need to see.

Deff NOT baggin on Kwak here. There are several I'd love to own. Joshs black 10 is top of my list. I was only referencing the gehayness of the ultra gehay cutesy colored useless tach.

Come Gleno, you know I’m not trying to antagonize, just debate ideas with a % or humor (never read me 100% seriously case in real life I’m not)

The post is about replacing the LEDs in the display unit; you can put it all white if you like… the rainbow is just to visualize the freedom in colors. For as long as I had my 636 never complained about the tachometer readability. On the new ZX-10R that is analog I’m having harder time reading it. We have an aftermarket industry because not bike is perfect; there are always areas of improvement. Personal taste is random thing. I don’t see any gayness in wanting to change the color of your display, and if there is any don’t really care… I have never been afraid of gays.
The best Display units I know are the MXL series; they are used in track mostly and far superior to any stock tachometer.

Two things made me decide to buy my Gixxer 1000 06 over the zx10...on was seat height and width, my feet dont touch, and the other was the tach...even the new one...yuck. Its almost as ugly as the exhaust on the gixxer, but I am replacing that anyway

The new tack for 06 is nicely done esthetically. I just don’t share the taste for analog tack that other members of the board have. Now is white and has a needle, the numbers give you a depth perception (kawa engines say is for a quick adjusting of your focal point from the road to the display… what ever… like gleno says is for gayness)… now the digital meters looks floating on top of the tach. At night the LCD section because the back light, looks white as well (not gray as normal). The front glass is slightly tinted to produce this effect. Not that many people has seen this tach in action, counting that as the dealer says my order was the first zx-10r they sold in LV.

Hummm…. I love that exhaust in the gixxer 1k. See different tastes… so far is the coolest stock exhaust I know! Go to the dealer that caries zx-10r and sit on one because is lower that zx-6r… I’m 5’10” and I used to tip toe my zx-6r and I’m flat feet with this zx-10r.
