Ok I can not stand how bad our streets are for traction. I used to ride in Cali and the streets there have twice the grip. My question is will getting a better tire really help traction on our roads? If so what tire do you recommend?

Yes Vegas has got to have the slickess road out there and stock tires dont work to good out here. I run the Pilot Powers and they hook up good out here. Diablo Corsa's work very good as well. You may look into the new Dunlop Qualifiers I am hearing good thing about them as well

I liked the "Deablo" Corsas and "Dumlop" Qualifiers better.*

I noticed that too, very slick roads.
I used to run Michellin Power Race in Cali, But i think in summer they'll melt like butter so im plannin to run Pilot power as well.

I'm not sure I would trash a perfectly good set just to change to another brand... Just make a few long trips to Utah and before you know it you'll need a new set anyway... then you can get Pilot Powers!
I love mine, but honestly it's still slick in the city and I don't push it.

vegas does have shiity roads but blame it on the weather. the lack of rain doesn't give the streets a good wash down like in cali.

I don't care what tires you use out here on these roads. The roads are just plain slick because of the oil.

I use Pilot Powers and if I get on it around a corner, the azz of the bike slides. Sometimes the front too, depending on the corner. Now you take the same setup out to the track and do the exact same thing (if not even faster) and you don't slide one bit.

I absolutely hate these roads compared to CA, UT and probably AZ from what I've heard from Josh (I've never ridden in AZ before).

I've stayed outta this so far, because evryone has such diverse opinions and preferences towards tires.

However, my best advice: Either keep them or get rid of them. Definitely not both.

I've got a great idea, burn the tires off the bike so I have to replace them!!!

Power Pilot has been around longer with a very good feedback from costumer, qualifiers still new. I have Dunlop Q and they seem to hold pretty good now that have more miles (because new they can’t keep up with the engine, had few slides under acceleration and cornering).

Because Power have won a reputation and the Q not I would go for the Power.

Rode on the Powers today at socaltrackdays in Pahrump. Initial run on the track was still very wet from snow and rain. They stuck like glue, even at max lean with kickstand dragging. I am so very impressed with them.
