I've heard that you have to break in new tires before riding very aggressive on them. Is this true, and if so how many miles does it take to brake them in? (Just baught pilot power streets)

Yes, you should break them in prior to really hitting on them.* Most tires have a coating on them when they come out of the factory to prevent drying out while sitting on the shelves.* I've heard most times 30 to 50 miles will totally clear off the coating and break them in.* Now, if you don't get over on the sides within that amount of time, then there will still be some coating there (obviously).* Mainly take it easy and see how they feel first.* Plus, be sure to run proper pressures in them (you'll get various answers on the pressures you want to run - usually changes for the track or street as well), so they stay "stable" I guess would be the word for it.* (so they don't wear funny over time...keep the pressures consistant all the time)

Also, as you should know, don't start getting on the tires until they are properly warmed up.* This goes for every ride.* Not just to break them in.* Cold cement/asphalt and cold tires DO NOT mix.* * We don't want to be seeing you post up later on that you have new bike parts for sale.* (well JWD might, but that's another story.* LOL* Just kiddin' bro!!!* )

So, always warm them up properly before you start leaning over on them and keep the pressures consistant (keep checking them prior to each ride) and you should be good to go.

I think JWD saves in tires, since he only uses one at the time.
