First, as a big Rossi fan, I hate to admit that him crashing out made for a exciting race. Props for him getting back on & collecting some points. Props to Elias for pleading for forgiveness after the race.

Second, Bridgy's V. Mishy's at the front - Ducati's gambit seems to have paid off. Tip my hat to Loris for a great ride.

Third, Pedrosa in front of the Repsol star, gonna get interesting in the Honda paddock - what becomes of Honda's attentions if Nicky comes in behind Danny again.

Fourth, kewl to see team KR in the top 10, now that he has a real machine. It was disapponting to see James Ellison in last, now that he has a real machine.

Rossi was the only rider to hit the tarmac but a big chunk of the field had their progress seriously disrupted. After a few seconds' gesturing Valentino picked his bike up and set off after the field with twisted 'bars, bent brake lever and right footrest, and an inoperable brake lever. He explained the delay by saying that when he crashes he usually trashes the bike so it took a while to think about getting going again.

Just to make Camel Yamaha's day, Colin Edwards was forced onto the grass in the same incident.

VALENTINO ROSSI (14th; + 1'05.766)

"We knew this was going to be a difficult race but maybe not so difficult! I saw Toni come up on the inside and he hit me; this is racing and these things happen. I have known Toni for many years and he is a good rider. He apologised to me after the race so I told him not to worry - only to remember to brake next time and if it is too late then to hit another bike instead of me! Anyway I came back on the track and had a nice battle with Alex Hofmann. I am disappointed because I wanted to win the first race of the season but there is nothing we can do now. Only work hard to make sure we don't have these problems again and look forward to the next race in Qatar."

I'll bet Hayden will be behind Pedrosa all season long.

Agreed. I made that exact remark during the race today. The 250s took him to school. Looks like he learned well.

Pedrosa is 5'4 like 110lbs AND it was his home track.* Did anyone else see how much later on the brakes he was going into corners?* I really don't know how such a small guy can throw around a 250HP Moto GP bike for 27 laps.* On another note, did anyone else notice he wears his leather OVER his boots?
Good to have Moto GP back again though, me thinks it will be Rossi's last year.

I'm with Carl.... If Rossi wins it all again this year, what else is there for him to accomplish..
