Damn shame.... Usually when you crash with no helmet your DOA.. She's very lucky... But this is something that we all should endorse,

"A bill before the Florida House of Representatives could have prevented the accident. The proposed legislation would require safety training and proof of endorsement before a motorcycle can be purchased or registered."
So something good might come out of this...

Glad she survived, the riding in Fl is as bad, if not worse than here. No helmets means more fatalities.... Does not mean less exp, just that head injuries are likelier (not a word) if the rider does not have a lid and other riding gear/protection...

Wow how dumb can you possibly be?* I just had a friend go down the other day without a helmet (nobody wears a helmet here).* Your just asking for trouble not wearing a helmet.* I'm not sure about having a motorcycle license before you can purchase a bike though.* I bought my bike without a motorcycle license nor having ever really rode a motorcycle.* Its hard to practice on a bike if you dont know anybody out there who has a bike.* Its even harder to convince your buddy to let you (a new driver) to learn on their bike.* I think there is a smart way to learn and a dumb way to lean and that chick just defined everything a person could possibly do wrong.* I think you should be able to buy a motorcycle, get your learners permit (and only be able to ride with licensed motorcyclists) and then go pass your mororcycle course and get your own license.* I now feel that all states should pass mandatory helmet laws.* I'm just waiting for one of my buds to go down and get their head smashed, but nobody will wear them here. I got scorned like crazy the other day when I went out to ride with my friends with my new Shoei RF1000 helmet. Nobody could figure out why I would spend that much money on a helmet when by law I dont even have to wear a helmet here. I think i'm gonna find a new group of ppl to ride with...oh wait, it will be u guys here in a couple of months.

I know for a fact that Honda will pay for you take a class with bike provided down there... Riders that are alive spend more money. If you buy a new Honda they will give you a gift cert for a MSF course worth $200.. I have seen it at four diff Honda Dealers between Orlando and Miami. As a legistlature anything that will help keep the roads safe will look good to them and their voters.

I am glad she survived but , I still think every rider should start on a dirtbike, you can tumble in the dirt and (possibly) not get hurt as bad as tarmac , just the same I think it would be benificial to every one on the streets if every driver had to ride a motorcycle before they got their license. Just my feelings

She had no license, but knowing that she didn’t have a license she opted for riding anyways… do you know a good way to prevent this?… well I know one, is having no motorcycles at all.

Sorry disagree with the regulators!

Now we make a law that people with no license will not get insurance… right, so they gonna ride with no license and on top of that, no insurance… great idea!

Ah, we make a law that you can’t buy a bike with no license… great deal, you don’t need to buy it from a dealer… so they going to ride a bike with no license, no insurance and on top of that worn out brakes.

I’m not trying to go against peoples believes, but making new laws is not the solution. If you gonna break the existing laws, you gonna break the new laws as well,… the only thing will accomplish is to limits the rights of the people that obey the laws.

Let's review here.

Only 19.
Just bought your FIRST bike 20 MINUTES ago
Never rode a motorcycle before
Never took a safety course

Okay, now lets go out and pin this bike at 100+ AND let's not wear a helmet. After all, since I have absolutely no experience on a motorcycle and I'm basically riding a race bike with lights on it, I'll never go down, so I don't need a helmet.

m'kay...sounds good to me.

WTF could someone possibly be thinking?! Bad enough if she has ridden before or something, but to ride a bike without ANY experience what so ever AND you won't wear a helmet??? Wholly crap. There are people that are experienced riders that have done stupid things like this, but for someone that's never ridden? Just amazes me that people can be THAT stupid.

I would absolutely LOVE to hear what she has to say about it when she comes out of all this. I really would. Without any coaching by anyone or anything. Just her raw words coming out of her mouth of why she would buy a race bike 20 minutes ago, think she woudln't need a helmet, and then take that bike over 100 mph. Hell, she didn't even break the damn thing in properly!!!! WTF?!

Sorry...just had to get that out of my system I guess. I just never thought people could be that stupid, but I guess that's why we have America's Stupidest Home Videos. LOL
