Hey everyone, I'm new. I just bought an 04 636 and I'm trying to figure out if the bike has a carburetor or is fuel injected. I'm pretty sure it's injected but it does have a choke (first time I've ever heard of a choke on an injection engine). Also, I'm looking for a Power Commander and a Carbon Fiber pipe, which leads me to my next two questions: Anyone got anything used that they're trying to sell that would go on my bike? and also, what's the difference between a slip-on and a bolt-on exhaust? After doing some research, there seems to be slip-ons, bolt-ons, and the full exhaust system. My best guess is that bolt-on includes the midpipe and the slip-on doesn't. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Injected fo sho. My wife's bike (Brightangel) also has the choke with injected. No surprise, it is an '03 636. Most slip-ons will include a midpipe I believe.

Deff injected as Greg said. NOT a choke, but a "fuel enrichment" feature. Allows more fuel on warm up basically. Not uncommon.

Also, as Greg said, the slip-on utilizes a mid pipe, whereas a "bolt on" is just that. You'd remove the can only, and bolt on an aftermarket can. Commonly just for sound. Your "best guess" is just backwards.

PCIII and a slip on will wake that bike up nicely if mapped correctly. A custom map is always best, but, maps downloaded from the Dyno Jet page work well also.

Welcome to our forums. Glad you're here. Post away....and post pics of the bike.
