Just a quick note to the n00bs to the desert and aren't used to warm weather.

1. Always stay hydrated.
By dehydrating yourself you are depriving your brain of thought functions. Not to mention you will save yourself one hell of a headache.

2. Replace your coolant once a year.
Your bikes at idle will cook your coolant in traffic. Not to mention your oil.

3. Batteries do not last very long in this heat.
Dont' be too suprised if your battery is 2 to 3 years old and you go out to start your ride in the morning and you get NUTTIN!

4. The Las Vegas City roads SUCK ASS!
The roads are already slippery because Las Vegas uses recycled tires in the pavement along with recycled oils to keep the asphalt from cracking. When you take into consideration the lack of rain we have, the amount of dust and how much traffic there really is, you will find your ride in a slip and slide if you're not careful.

5. Be sure to park your ride in a shaded environment.
Besides the more than obvious, Gasoline and high temperatures do not play well with each other. While the gas itself does not see any direct sunlight, gas evaporates very quickly in high temps. Oh, and you may burn your legs / Private Parts / General Areas getting on your bike, which may cause a slight DROP in elevation.

6. Over heating bikes
If you have to turn off your bike because it's getting really hot; Be sure to adjust the idle/choke to high to start it again. Otherwise it may not start right away and you could end up flooding the carbs / injection system and hold up traffic.

If it has over heated do not run the bike if you absolutely don't have to. The oil has been baked, the water almost boiling. Any kind of lubrication that was in the coolant has now left the building. Your motor oils viscosity is now pretty much worthless.

Just a little tip to help out..

I would just like to add, when it's raining (this being our monsoon season, as it were), particualy when it first starts to rain it is slicker than sh!t. All the oil on the road comes up and sits on top of the water. Not only is tough to keep your bike up but these fools in the cages can't drive in the rain either.

Great info. also dont forget proper gear
1, tanktop or t-shirt ( this will help keep you cool why'll looking cool )
2. Shorts ( I prefer swimming trunks)
3. Sandles ( any will do)
4. Helmet. Half helmets are great, they dont cover much of your head so it makes it easier to talk to friends why'll riding plus you get a nice tan and the chicks dig it

With all that has been said here it will help you servive a hot summer

Speedos are my choice by far.
A. slick areodynamics (you go much faster)
B. they show off your junk (thereby truly impressing the chicks)
