I love my shoei it has been with me for ever.

Any thoughts what I should get? What do you like? Besides staying away from the cheap stuff what do you not like?

Hell, I'd get another Shoei if they fit you fine. I may get an X-11 as my next lid, but the RF1000 is still a sweet lid as well. If not the Shoei, maybe take a peek at the Shark, Suomy, or AGV.

it all depend of your head shape. if Shoie fit you well then you should stick with them.
myself I have a shoei TZ 1 it fit very well in the begining, but after time it got too loose. now I have a Arai RX7 corsair and I love it, the vents are working better ( for me) than the Shoei, I can place the speaker for my Mp3 / detector with no problems as there is a "hole" where the ears goes. to change the shield it's a pain in the @ss !! Shoei is a LOT easier. but at the same time I don't remove it that often. I heard good thing about the new scorpion too.

I have good experience with Arai! My first helmet was an HJC and it was not comfortable. Arai is quite pricey but I think it's worth every penny. I've turned my friends to them and the ones that have tried them agreed.

The SHOEI X-11 is going to be next one. They're lite weight and Shoei's seem to fit me better than the others. There's a lot of racers using them out at Willow Springs right now because of the protection they offer and they're so lite. The Bostrom one is pretty cool looking.
